RESTON, VA — Reston Hospital Center cut the ribbon earlier this week on its new Spine and Orthopedic Center, dedicating 33 rooms to provide high-quality care for its surgical spine and orthopedic patients.

“Our goal is to continually align our clinical and care support resources to provide the highest level of surgical care that patients and providers have come to expect at Reston Hospital Center,” said Laura-Anne Cleveland, RHC's chief nursing officer.

The new sub-unit will allow the center's care team to provide personalized service for its patients that aligns with their particular post-surgery needs.

“With the spine and orthopedic patients placed in a dedicated space, not only will their needs be more specifically met, but so will those of the surgical patients who will remain on our general surgery unit, “said Becki Lawhorne, RHC's associate chief nursing officer. “Aligning these two units allows our care teams to focus on providing the best care experience for each and every patient.”

Earlier in the year, Healthgrades ranked Reston Hospital Center as the No. 1 hospital in Virginia in surgical care and the No. 2 hospital in the state for both joint replacement and orthopedic surgery, according to a release.
