Neighbors' Cars Targeted In Vienna Break-Ins: Police

Vienna Police say purses stolen from a car were found at a neighbor's property, where another car was broken into.

VIENNA, VA — Two Vienna neighbors were the victim of vehicle break-ins earlier this week, according to Vienna Police.

Both break-ins happened in the 1100 block of Redwood Drive SE. The first incident happened between 3:20 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. The home's resident reported an unknown person went through her unlocked vehicle and took two purses.

The other incident happened that same night between 6 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday. The resident reported to police that someone went through his unlocked vehicle and damaged the LCD screen on the dashboard. In addition, the purses from the neighbor's car were found in his yard.

Due to an increase of vehicle break-ins and thefts in Northern Virginia, Vienna Police caution residents that suspects enter stolen cars between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. Suspects may steal vehicles when keys are inside and enter unlocked cars to look for valuables and money. Police encourage residents to keep cars locked, close doors of homes and garages, and remove valuables from cars.
