Postal Service Employee Pepper Sprayed In Vienna Robbery

A suspect pepper sprayed a Postal Service employee and stole the employee's key in Vienna on Friday, according to police.

VIENNA, VA — A U.S. Postal Service worker was robbed and pepper sprayed Friday in Vienna, according to police.

Officers responded to the robbery around 11:50 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of Church Street NE. Vienna Police say the suspect showed a knife and demanded the employee's keys.

The employee gave the suspect a U.S. Postal Service mailbox key before the suspect pepper sprayed the employee and fled.

The employee went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Vienna Police and the U.S. Postal Inspector are investigating the robbery. A suspect description was not immediately available.
