About me

I am Alicia, originally from Amsterdam but a proud Londoner for the last ten years. Mostly a musician and violin teacher, I also teach Dutch and English language to all ages and abilities.

I have a passion for teaching, and would love to pass on my love for the Dutch language. As a teacher at the Fulham Dutch School, I am experienced with teaching verbal, writing and reading skills to students age 3 - 99.

In my lessons, your needs are central to me and together we create a unique learning plan to achieve your goals. I also like to encourage my students to engage with the Dutch language outside in creative ways.

Fantastic teacher, I felt like I learned more in 3 lessons with her than I did through years of learning by myself. Tuned into my needs immediately and very well, had very focused and hands on lessons, which were also just a lot of fun. Highly recommend.

Alicia has been so wonderful to work with. I am taking on Dutch for work, and she has helped me with history and culture in addition to the basics of the Dutch language. I thoroughly appreciate her patience while I work on pronunciations. She made a great cheat sheet on how things would sound in English and has many other excellent recommendations. You’re in amazing hands with her! So grateful!!!

Alicia is always very well prepared and adjusts the content of the lessons perfectly to my priorities. I like that she focuses so much on speaking rather than just dry grammar or reading.

Alicia is incredibly patient, warm and creates a safe space to learn! She adapts her style to what works best for you. We are able to balance theoretical grammar lessons with more chatty conversational ones. All while having a laugh :)
