"It is without a doubt the best online training I've ever encountered” Exactly what we like to hear from our clients!!!! 🏆🏆🏆 But what makes our experiences stand out? There’s the obvious… ⏲ They’re clear, concise and efficient - a must have when time is of the essence… 🔬 They’re created by scientists and supported by top institutions… 🏆 They’re solutions focused - leading to accountability, ownership and behaviour change…. But more than that… our training infuses emotions, community, human connection, story-telling, psychology and ✨show bizz✨ into the mix …and those ingredients are what set us apart! Whether people learn and act today will shape the world we live in tomorrow. ”HOW can what you’re trying to implement make [a stakeholder’s] life easier, better, more rewarding?” I was inspired to hear about Andy Brown’s holistic approach to sustainability at Anglian Water Services Waters and how he brings his team along on the journey. Key tips: 🧠 understand what others are trying to achieve? 👁️🗨️ translate your aims into their language 👟 think about their personality and pressures they’re under 🏆 focus on win-wins Do check out the episode, wherever you get your podcasts, where we talk about: 🌊 The real impacts of climate change that are occurring today 🚿 Reconnecting people to the water cycle and water ecosystems 🏢 The link between the long-term viability of a business and the long-term wellbeing of the natural environment and local communities 🐸 GREAT CRESTED NEWTS! One of my fave amphibians - giving me an excuse to give a shout out to the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology, University of Kent surveying team!

Science tells us that spending time in nature is inherently good for us. Plus, for those of us working in climate/sustainability, a deep love for and connection with the rest of nature is often critical in motivating us to continue working to achieving the green, verdant, healthy future we all deserve. But when so much of our time is spent on virtual meetings, how can we maintain that connection with the rest of nature that is so important for our work and our wellbeing? Here is a cool tactic we’ve started to use at AimHi Earth: Inviting Nature into our online work! How? 🍃 With Zoom’s easy-to-use audio-share feature… 🍂 …and a subscription to Earth.fm’s library of almost 1,000 immersive natural soundscapes from all over the world We are now infusing our team calls and live training sessions with the sounds of the rest of nature. Feels weird to talk about bringing “nature” into the digital space? Well, research has found that being exposed to the sounds and sights of nature - even through a TV or computer screen - is still hugely beneficial for physical and mental health. At AimHi Earth our mission to activate a million nature-first thinkers through nature-centric digital education that helps people to understand that nature is really at the heart of most - if not all - of the intersecting crises we face today. Inviting ‘nature’ into the digital world in which we operate feels an important part of this process. Interested in trying it out? We have live public sessions every month - with our next one today (8th August!) Sign up (for free) on our website and let us know what you think about the bird song and wave sounds that you hear - as well as the training you receive! 🌳 🕊 🌊 🐞

AIMING HIGH - EPISODE FIVE IS NOW LIVE 💦💧🚰 “No work on sustainability is ever lost or forgotten" - Andy Brown’s pep talk to sustainability professionals pushing the dial on ESG. I had a really enjoyable and honest conversation with Anglian Water Services's Andy Brown on instilling nature as a stakeholder within businesses... but more than this, we touched on a number of topics that really struck a chord with me: 🧠 What does it mean to be a purpose-led business? 💰 How can we, as sustainability professionals, enable our teams to make decisions based on a broader range of value than just efficiency or cost? 🤗 With climate and nature being such an urgent and personal issue, how can we support sustainability professionals to look after their own wellbeing as well as the wellbeing of the planet? After re-listening, I think Andy’s closing message to sustainability practioners - ”Well done. Keep at it.” is something we should each endeavour to say to each other more. Please do tune in, wherever you find your podcasts.

89% of non-vegans change their diet to reduce their intake of animal products as a result of AimHi Earth’s training. 🍎 🍏 🍍 ”……OK Sarah why are you telling me this? What’s this got to do with sustainability training?” We know that no one changes something so personal as their diet unless they’re truly moved by what they’ve learnt. We don’t believe that individual changes alone will be enough to prevent climate and ecological breakdown… But who better to transform organisations and systems than people who’ve transformed themselves? Whether people learn and act today will shape the world we live in tomorrow. Follow me to reflect together about how we can empower individuals & organisations to transform our economy and society to one of sustainability and regeneration 🌿 📸 Mindy Coe at The Rewilding with Michelle Parry 💚

💬 “I love the idea of climate training - but will need to convince the team of the ROI” 💬 ”This could be a game changer - but will need help to building the business case” 💬 ”My team desperately need training on these topics - but it’s hard to think about the measurable outcomes” ^^ We heard you! At AimHi Earth, we’re experts at making the complex simple, and inspiring and activating huge teams, at speed… But more than that, we have a track record of supporting organisations with… 1️⃣ Transforming employee motivation, empowerment and alignment (85% of the employees who were previously planning to quit report feeling significantly more motivated about their current role) 2️⃣ Embedding lasting behavioural and mindset change (92% of learners make changes in their life due to the things they’ve learnt) 3️⃣ Cutting employee-related scope 3 emissions by half (51% reduction) 4️⃣ Scoring higher with B Lab, EcoVadis and more... Huge shout out to Matthew J Shribman (MChem Oxon) and María Sánchez Poncela for their work compiling this brand new report by AimHi Earth, illustrating the opportunity, urgency and impact of our training programmes. Check it out if you’re interested in digging into data collected from numerous companies.

“We will never have more choices than we do today” LOVED this urgent dialogue described by Courtney Holm in my latest podcast episode about her work transforming leadership mindsets! Key learnings: 1️⃣ Every climate conversation is a negotiation. 2️⃣ You can’t go into these conversations, looking to change people’s minds, if you don’t understand where they are on their journey. You have to start by understanding what matters to them. 3️⃣ ”Commercialising the science” - a key part of making the business case for sustainability. 4️⃣ Build trust: make sure they know that you know what your stuff is. Be… Emotive. Imaginative. Honest. Transparent. Consistent. Authentic. Vulnerable. Flexible. (This advice feels especially relevant after reading EdenLab’s latest report that shows that the number 1 activity dominating the typical workweeks of sustainability leaders is “influencing others to take action”.) I’ve listened back to this episode and it almost feels like a fantastic coaching session for any sustainability professional looking to drive change in sustainability - wish I had this at the start of my journey in this space! 🌱✨ Listen to the episode via the link in the comments. And if anyone has any other resources about building and developing negotiation skills please do share them below!!
