Wish I could give them a 0 rating!

Wish I could give them a 0 rating!
I have had Travelers auto and home for 4 years. Never made a claim until early this year. Roof over porch was leaking, they agreed to repair that portion only even though roof inspector suggested replacing the entire roof, of course they refused.
Two weeks ago I got a letter from them stating they are not going to renew my policy. They claim I have not maintained the roof on the house or garage (we are in the process of tearing down the garage) Also my above ground pool is not covered or maintained. Makes sense to me to cover a pool when we are using it.
Do not use Travelers for any insurance needs. Not only will they increase your premiums they will dump you if you make a claim.

Worse Company Ever

Avoid at all cost. Dealing with Travelers has been a journey that I hope nobody ever has to go through. They are unresponsive to phone calls or emails. The only time they reach out is when I call their customer service line and escalate my concerns. When they reach out and responses are given, they are unclear and leaves you with more questions than answers. Complete garbage company causing additional stress to what is already stressful.

If i could give them -5* I would

If i could give them -5* I would. We had a burst sewage main in our basement which we paid $12k to fix, I was told by Travelers (Scott Buist) I could throw away the items damaged by sewage water which equated to approx $2k worth of belongings. Travelers will not pay a penny towards the cost associated to fixing the pipe, drywall and floor, fine, but now we have been told after getting a signed affidavit by our city Council that we should not have gotten rid of the items and we are being treated like criminals with Travelers telling me and my husband to have separate statement meetings (Donald Forgan). They make you jump through hoops and will do everything they can to deny I claim, they treat you like criminals and are the most unprofessional company. STAY AWAY

If I could give them no stars I would!

If I could give them no stars I would!! Had a flood with no flood insurance, lost so many belongings and memories. Before the adjuster in CT named Vance said he had bad news before even coming basically saying there was nothing he can do! He came after a week of cleaning up and fixing pipes after flood burst our pipes then flooded our basement with storm water. We have a broken furnace and it's almost fall soon to be winter. So he came and said the same thing. Oh I have bad news. Not a cent or even a caring word for our loss. Worst company ever! High rates for crap service and no sincerity. Shop somewhere else!

Travelers harassment and extortion as a business practice

Travelers has been harassing and extorting me as a senior citizen after cashing my homeowners premium. They refuse to acknowledge and are threatening to cancel my insurance and increasing my premium and continue bullying me to pay a double premium. I have never been late and have excellent credit and due to their incompetence they are causing me extreme hardship. Stay far away from this company they wield their big corporate power against their customers. Some federal agency needs to investigate their business practices.

Disturbingly difficult to communicate with

I'm impressed by how hard they're making it for me to cancel my policy. I first tried their website and was told there to call. So I called and was told it was outside of business hours (but not what those hours were). I was like "ok fine, it's a weekend, other insurance companies have business hours today but they don't, that's fair." So I called back on Monday at 4 pm and got the same "it's outside of our business hours" message. So I called back TODAY, Friday, and someone did answer the phone and told me they'd need to send me paperwork to fill out, and would try to do that by the end of the day, and then after that I could expect confirmation of cancellation in 7-10 business days. So I hope all of that goes smoothly and I don't end up having to send in a certified letter via USPS, because this is already time-consuming and it's obnoxious to know I'm being double-charged on insurance policies until I chase these guys down.

You know how long it took me to complete this exact same process on the exact same starting date with Safeco Insurance? Well under 15 minutes. It doesn't have to be this hard, Travelers.

TRAVELERS REFUSES TO PAY CLAIMS

My vehicle was insured by Travelers Insurance and damaged in an accident which was determined not to be my fault. The vehicle was repaired at Boston Body Works which charges $60/hour for labor, which is a normal and usual labor rate for body shops in Boston. Travelers only reimbursed me for a labor rate of $40/hour which they claim is an "average labor rate". They admit that the policy contains no such hourly limitation on the labor rate and they refuse to state how this average labor rate of $40 was determined or why they would be entitled to reimburse me based on any “average labor rate”. Travelers didn't inform me of the $40/hour until long after the vehicle was repaired and after many emails and phone calls. WHAT GOOD IS AN INSURANCE COMPANY THAT WON'T PAY CLAIMS?

Worst insurance company ever

Worst insurance company ever. Had them three years for home insurance. They denied legitimate claims and I had to fix things out of pocket. Finally one claim they couldn't weasel out of they were ducking calls and eventually paid after fighting with them for 5 months. Two weeks later they sent a letter stating they were dropping my insurance.

Travelers easily resolved 2 issues

A deer hit my car and Travelers was prompt to review and accept the repair costs (10k), less my deductible.
A year later, mice had entered my garage, entered underneath my car and ate the wires. Eventually, my dashboard went blank. The dealer repair shop said the wires are made with a blend of soy (similar to corn used in gasoline blends) which mice like.
Again, Travelers covered the costs (2k). PS, I sealed the garage area where mice entered, so problem solved.
I've been a customer for 13+ years (PS, under a different name).

I wouldn’t even give them one star if…

I wouldn’t even give them one star if that was an option. Years of paying premiums, and we file our first claim and they are absolutely screwing us. They don’t care at all. Customer care is not in their nature, they should be ashamed of themselves. We’ve already moved companies due to this horrific experience. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Beware! not a good experience

Beware! Bad experience. Our vehicle was flooded while vacationing in Florida. We contacted their claims department and at first they denied coverage. They insisted that comprehensive coverage and rental coverage had been dropped when we moved from FL to TX, but we never lived in FL. Finally after 16 days we received a fair settlement on our car, but they declined to address our rental car expense claim. All that after being a customer for 16 years.

It was great to have the 900 for a rental for how many ever days, but half the time was spent waiting on their adjusters. I have had 3 accidents and none my fault: rear ended, animal, suspected drunk driver. They had me waiting on the side of the road for over 4 hours for the tow truck, which was coming from a location an 1.5 hours away that they got. Just getting the animal claim started took almost two weeks. I have yet to see my deductible back for the drink driver accident that happened Dec 2020, even though I keep being told they are and should have processed it. Plus, so far everything I've asked for an email notification they say sure no problem and then snail mail it. Yes I'm switching insurance and writing my reviews at different sites as I go.

Try calling Roadside assistance

Try calling Roadside assistance - not a good experience. If you don't know your policy number by heart, you can't fill out their online forms they send you to. And what if you don't have wifi wherever you're stuck?
They were unable to find me by my name and phone number. And, I have 5 policies with them!
Just spent 55 mins on the phone with them. Not at all sure it would be better in the future. Investigating other options.

I have no problem with Travelers…

I have no problem with Travelers claims, only the rates. I live in a small coastal town in Oregon. I'm 75 years old without any violations in the last 18 years. I have a 2004 auto worth around $5000. I drive under 3000 miles per year. In 2019 a neighbor backed a Uhaul truck into my Jeep that was legally parked at the Curb. My Jeep was totaled. Two days later she backed the same truck into my rental car doing nearly $4000 in damage. Again it was legally parked. She was arrested this time. Uhaul eventually repaid Travelers, but I lost my $500 deductible. Now my monthly Premium is $226.00 per month on a $5000 vehicle that I drive less than 3000 miles per year. I don't want to switch, but the price seem extremely high. I live on Social Security so this really hurts. I do carry full coverage with medical, but still it seems way high. I would not advise anyone to use this…

I would not advise anyone to use this company for their home insurance. We purchased a home last year in December after inspections and all. After being in the home for 6 or 7 months we started to have some issues and thought well let's call Travels. We only went with this company because we had them for years in Florida without any issues. We filed 4 claims only 2 were paid, meaning we had to take care of everything with the other two claims, which was not a problem because it's not like we can give the house back. Now Travelers sent us a letter stating they want renew us technically because they had to pay out two claims although we've fixed all issues we came across since purchasing the home, even replacing the driveway just to keep the insurance.

Travelers is the worst Insurance…

Travelers is the worst Insurance company. They will not honor the premium. I had damage to my 2019 Subaru Outback. The body shop estimate was fair and way lower than a dealer. The adjusters at Travelers refuse to pay mor than 400 dollars for a 2700 dollar repair. My deductible is 500. The rear proximity radar safety system is damaged. Travelers refused to fix it. My body shop is obligated to fix this. What good is a full coverage premium? Travelers is claiming the repair us extravagant. Really? DO NOT USE TRAVELERS INSURANCE.
I'm being treated like crap. First claim I have ever made. Never had a ticket. Backed into concrete bollard that I did not see. I'm being treated like garbage. My car repair shop is being treated like garbage. My car guys are pros! Travelers is the worst. Dont use them!!! Nothing but heartache!!! I would not trust Travelers to insure a toy car. You'd still get ripped off!!

This company is horrible they denied…

This company is horrible they denied our claim to replace our roof. They said they would pay $1,900.00 to repair the water damage on the ceiling. They only paid $900.00 of the claim and will not pay what they promised. They increased our rates several times. Stay away from this company they don't do what they promise or pay claims. Lairs

TRAVELERS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORSE

Pay over 1K/mo for multiple drivers on half dozen vehicles. Recently had a vehicle totaled , other drivers fault 100%. Almost been a month with no resolution. Terrible communication from adjuster, to appraiser, to total loss adjuster, to supervisors of supervisors. Bottom line, THEY DON’T CARE! Zero customer care or concern about you, your totaled car or the actual value. All insurance companies are lacking for one reason or another, and I understand it’s a dirty business, but Travelers, in my over 40 years of paying and using insurance is the absolute worse. Hands down, not even close. BUYER BEWARE! LOOK ELSEWHERE and save yourself from the trouble I’VE experienced.
