Taylor Swift and Queen Mary of Denmark are among celebrity fans of Australian swimwear brand Zimmermann and its boho chic paisley designs

Despite their differing fashion styles, Crown Queen Mary of Denmark and megastar Taylor Swift have a mutual love for a bohemian designer brand.

The superstar musician, 34, and Danish Queen, 52, have both been spotted holidaying in beachwear from Zimmerman’s 2023 Summer Swim collection this year.

Before heading to the Paris Olympics, Queen Mary was snapped taking a relaxing dip in the ocean at Nikki Beach in Sardinia - wearing a Devi Plunge V Wire One Piece, which retails at around £160, by the Australian label.

And back in April, Swift shared a montage of clips of personal moments from her life to social media when she released her 11th studio album Tortured Poets Departments.

In a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot; the 34-year-old was seen on a balmy holiday donning a Zimmerman bikini top from the same line.

Taylor’s bikini top and Mary’s one-piece have the same colourful paisley patchwork print, wired plunging neck and thin spaghetti straps.

Mary’s swimsuit features more coverage and a stylish removable belt with a chain-embellished detail.

The mum-of-four usually sticks with Danish designers including Birgid Hallstein who was behind her 2004 wedding dress and many of the royal’s favourite ball gowns, however, she often pays homage to her Australian roots by donning a range of clothing by brands from Down Under.

She paired the swimsuit and protected herself from the sun with a Canopy Bay £76 Hutton Malibu hat by Australian TV personality and skin cancer survivor Deborah Hutton.

While enjoying her downtime in Sardinia, Mary went boating in another Zimmermann piece, the £593 Tiggy Paisley Print Mini Dress.

Zimmerman has showcased collections at both Australian and New York fashion weeks and while its pieces are not cheap, the swimwear doesn’t come with an eyewatering designer price tag.

Taylor’s £165 Devi Plunge V Wire bikini top is out of stock on the Zimmermann website and with most retailers.

However, some online vendors not only have a small supply but have even slashed its price to less than £50.

The Aussie-born royal’s swimsuit is much easier to come by and ranges between £162 and £235.

This isn’t the first time Mary and Swift’s style has overlapped.

They are also big fans of New York designer Ellen Hunter who is best known for her ornate handcrafted jewellery hair accessories which have become a celebrity favourite over the years.

The life of a superstar musician and Danish queen may seem like worlds apart but Mary of Denmark and Taylor Swift share one interesting similarity: New York designer Ellen Hunter

Queen Mary has been photographed wearing Hunter’s £57 Daphne comb at the dome hall at Fredensborg Castle, the Danish royal family's spring and autumn residence.

The queen wore the hair accessory for the Armed Forces' Badge of Honour dinner in September 2023, three years after Swift debuted the famous comb in her Cardigan (cabin in the candlelight) music video back in 2020.

Swift paired the delicate gold comb with a velvet Ralph Lauren dress, while Queen Mary styled the accessory with a sleek black suit and her medals.

Most recently, Queen Mary wore the Jane comb ($248) from Ellen Hunter during the Danish state visit to Norway in May 2024.

The Jane comb uses filigree - a method where the maker twists gold wire together and solders it - which makes its design more intricate.

During the same visit in Norway, Queen Mary also dazzled in the Amanda comb ($338) as she posed next to her husband King Frederik X of Denmark and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr.

The sparkly comb is adorned with European crystals and pacific opals set atop gold leaves similar to the Daphne comb.

Other celebrities including Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and Paris Hilton have also previously been spotted sporting Ellen Hunter's popular designs since Swift first donned the gorgeous piece.
