You never knew what was going to happen on Supermarket Sweep - and 30 years later, fans were delighted to learn a little more about two former contestants.

Supermarket Sweep was a popular grocery-based game show which ran for multiple years from 1965 to 2022.

The objective was to answer questions and pass various tests in order to win the grand prize.

One pairing who once appeared on Supermarket Sweep as 'business partners' have captivated a new generation of fans, after revealing they have been together as a couple for 41 years.

On Sunday, X user Tom Zohar posted a screenshot of a 1991 episode of Supermarket Sweep, captioning it, 'I love watching old episodes of Supermarket Sweep because these two just said they’re "business partners" who "design sets for plays" and I'm like oh I'm sure.'

'The host asked them what's the weirdest set they've been asked to design and their whole lives flashed before their eyes trying to come up with a heterosexual answer,' he joked.

In an adorable update, Tim confirmed they are actually a couple, and married in 2008 when gay marriage became legal in California, which was also their 25th anniversary.

'So… a friend shared that Mark and I had been made into a meme for our being on Supermarket Sweep decades ago and saying we were business partners,' Tim wrote in a comment on a Facebook group.

'They began asking "where are they now," so we posted an update. It has taken on a life of its own in the thread and comments. What a world!'

In another comment, Tim shared he and Mark ran a business designing and painting backdrops and sets for 27 years.

'A lot has changed since we were on that show as far as gay couples and being on TV and things like that,' Tim, 64, told People

'So it's not surprising that people have some interest in that and it’s been kind of fun, actually.'

The Chicago-based couple, who met met in Galveston, Texas, were based in California at the time, and decided to go on the show to earn some money.

'While we were just getting to know California, it was very exciting to see in the Los Angeles Times, there were listings in the newspaper for game show contestants,' Tim explained.

'It is different than it is now, I guess. And we just said, this would be kind of a fun way to make some money,' he continued.

'That was the first one. And then, actually, Mark was on Win, Lose or Draw too,' he quipped.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Tim and Mark did well on their episode, but ended up losing to David and Paula, a married couple who took home $1,264.
