When Nadia Howard and Ashley Smith decided to tie the knot, they wanted a unique way to share their special day with the people that created their love story - so gave guests their own.

The newlyweds found a touching way to say thank you to every attendee at their nuptials, giving them each a book with a special connection to them.

The books, which the couple had wrapped up in paper to match their color scheme, not only contained a sweet note explaining why they chose the story, but also their table number.

The heartfelt idea was bought to life by the couple, who shared it in a video shared to TikTok, at their wedding in Bedford, England.

The clip, which has been viewed over 140,000 times, showed the adorable touch in detail.

The couple had set up a bookshelf with all of the novels wrapped in pastel-colored paper with their names and table number neatly printed on the spine.

Once their guests found their names on the book, Nadia and Ashley had written them a letter explaining why they chose that particular book for them.

'We both love reading so a book case was a perfect fit for our day,' Nadia explained in a TikTok video.

In the build-up to the wedding, the couple scoured their own personal collections and charity shops for the perfect book for each guest.

There were no specific rules, with some choices made based on hobbies while others were just books they thought they'd enjoy.

'It was great to see the guests reactions as they came into the room and saw the book case,' she added.

Nadia and Ashley crafted the makeshift covers themselves, using a paper cutting machine to create the letters for the names.

'It wasn't difficult when we got used to it but was quite time consuming!' they wrote in a comment on TikTok.

They added that they purposely didn't use any tape or adhesive so the books could be donated or re-gifted if the guests didn't like them.

'We folded our covers in a way we didn't use any tape so the book remained undamaged,' Nadia explained.

'We also wrote our message onto the covers rather than the book itself so guests could easily regift or donate,' she continued.

'A lot of generic wedding favors are thrown away,' Nadia pointed out. 'So I'm hoping this idea didn't create any more waste than that, but instead gave some second hand books a new lease of life.'

TikTok users loved the creative and heartfelt idea.

'If some did this and I got to go to the wedding and open it and it was a book I liked I would cry,' one user declared.

'This is actually so magical - this is a wedding I would have loved to have attended. Great job,' agreed another.

'This is absolutely beautiful,' someone else chimed in. 'True inclusion in someone's special day is when they think about your experience as much as their own and you just know those books and the memories will last forever.'

'I'm so happy with how everything turned out,' Nadia gushed. 'It was really hard work but it was all worth it in the end.'
