Fifty shades of fashion! Models take to the runway in VERY racy bondage-inspired outfits at New York Fashion Week

Fashion Week is an opportunity for designers to showcase their new season garments - but for some designers it was all about what lies beneath. 

Designers at the Art Heart Fashion show sent models down the runway in an array of racy lingerie seemingly inspired by the upcoming Fifty Shades movie.

Models donned tiny leather thongs, suspenders and stockings as they stormed the runway wearing Marie Antoinette-inspired hair pieces.

One model went completely topless and twirled at the end of the runway to reveal her pert derriere.

Another model, who showcased her enviable figure in a purple basque bra and pants, offset her skimpy outfit with a huge grey wig and chunky ponytail.

Male models also partook in the show - and certainly gave the ladies on the front row more than they bargained for by donning skin-tight boxers and Christian Grey style ties. 

Some models wore more simple bikinis, whilst others stunned in couture-esque gowns as they worked the runway at the bi-annual fashion event.

The Art hearts fashion events are a leading platform for designers and artists to showcase their collections in a contemporary fashion week setting. 

The events have been held coast to coast as a national platform for designers to showcase in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. Founded in 2011 by philanthropist and designer, Erik Rosete, the event has grown to become a top platform in the art and fashion community.

New York Fashion Week winds to a close today as the action moves to London, where heavyhitters such as Burberry, Mulberry and Julien Macdonald will showcase their collections. 

London Fashion Week has plenty of ways for the public to get involved, from digital engagement to events across the city.

LFW was the first fashion week to create a digital schedule and this season will once again live stream the catwalk shows on the schedule. 

For the first time this season Christopher Kane will also be live streaming his show.
