Vogue reveals hilarious celebrity dog cover shoots aptly named 'Dogue'

Several celebrity dogs were ready for their closeup this week in their cover shoots taken in honor of summertime.

The inspiration behind this Vogue shoot came after an editor spotted a Labrador puppy on the cover of the magazine in February 1997.

'His Soliloquy: To be or not to be - a dog show dog?' the cover line read.

Other famous dogs that have made it to the cover of Vogue over the years include a Great Dane that belonged to Coco Chanel, and Yorkshire Terriers standing alongside Arthur Elgort.

This week, Vogue stepped into the lives of all these celebrity dogs for their aptly named Dogue covers, and got to know all of them personally and professionally.

Sydney Sweeney owns an adorable Pitbull, but not everyone was thrilled about the adoption at first.

The Euphoria star adopted Tank when the dog was four weeks old after finding her in a cage at an animal shelter when the actress was 17.

'She had been fixed at a really young age - like, two and a half, three weeks old. You’re not supposed to do it that young,' Sweeney told Vogue.

Although Sweeney's dog-loving great grandmother supported her decision, the actress' parents grounded her.

Years later, Sweeney continues to protect and love Tank, who she said 'sleeps like a human' and 'thrives on set'.

'The moment we call action, she stops moving and doesn't make a sound. Then you call cut and then she gets up. It's amazing,' Sweeney said.

'One of her best qualities is her instinctive sense of going to complete strangers like she has something to give them that they need,' Moore said.

'She was meant to be with me, and I was meant to be with her.'

Moore, who called Pilaf her 'little travel mate,' has taken her dog to Broadway shows, the French Open, and to Tom Holland's performance in Romeo and Juliet.

Billie Eilish adopted Shark after she began fostering dogs during the COVID 19 pandemic. She fostered one other dog, who was eventually adopted by a family friend

After the Covid-19 pandemic forced Billie Eilish to stay in her Los Angeles home, she became a dog foster carer.

'I reached out to a rescue organization called Angel City Pit Bulls, the same place my brother adopted his dog from,' Eilish told Vogue.

'They had a new litter of 10 rescue puppies, and I reached out to them and said that I would be home for two weeks because of this coronavirus before going back on tour, and that I could foster a couple of puppies.'

Eilish immediately fell in love with both puppies, adopted the one who she described as 'really special and goofy,' and named him Shark.

The singer has since post several photos and videos of him on social media platforms, and hinted that Shark was a 'sign' animal lovers needed if they were thinking about adopting or fostering an animal.

'I just loved his color and I loved his personality. He’s got these human eyes for sure, and I could picture my life with him,' said Eilish.

Ferg first met KrasH in 2020 after he bought the Australian Shepherd as a gift for his then girlfriend Renell Medrano.

KrasH usually stayed at Ferg's house in New Jersey, and his behavior occasionally left the rapper scared or traumatized.

Ferg revealed that KrasH loves to play chase, and that he'd occasionally run out the door, and have the 'whole neighborhood' search for him.

The first two incidents occurred while KrasH was with a dog sitter, but Ferg was frightened like never before when his Australian Shepherd didn't come home after the third.

'I'd never felt like that before. It was alien, like losing a member of your family,' Ferg told Vogue.

Officers found KrasH in Connecticut last month, and as of now, Ferg believes a family may have taken his dog.

'He ran to me and was sniffing and licking me all over. I just remember one, being happy, and two, saying to myself, "he’s alive and this is crazy,"' said the rapper.

Scout was taken to the Midwest Animal Rescue and Service, and one person from the organization described him as 'very calm, slightly nervous, and well behaved' while speaking with Vogue.

Today, Scout is occasionally featured in posts on the governor's social media accounts, but can occasionally have trouble opening doors.

According to Ayo Edebiri, her chihuahua named Gromit is a rescue with a 'freakish sense of sentience.'

'Gromit is deeply loyal, intelligent, and a host of other things, but to be perfectly frank, his greatest quality is that he looks gorgeous in hats and clothes, and he knows it,' Edebiri told Vogue.

'Sadly, the fact that he knows it is arguably his worst quality.'

Edebiri recalled a time when she took Gromit to work with her.

According to the actress, her dog 'joined the camera department' and tried to run for treasurer at the International Cinematographers Guild.
