This is the horrifying moment pet pooch was brazenly snatched from her owner's front garden in broad daylight.

Three-year-old Chihuahua Fluffy was innocently playing with some other dogs when she was stolen from her home in Chapeltown, Sheffield.

Her owner Josh Fothergill had only taken his eyes off the dog for a matter of minutes before a shameless thief nabbed her at around 6pm last Wednesday.

CCTV footage captured the woman interacting with the pets, before enticing the two to come to a lower fence.

Then she shockingly grabs defenceless Fluffy tucking the dog under her jacket and swiftly setting off.

The Chihuahua's heartbroken owner, Mr Fothergill, initially thought Fluffy had gone exploring when he couldn't find her in the garden.

He went searching in a nearby church yard to no avail, but when he returned home CCTV footage confirmed his worst fears.

'I had a look on the cameras and the lady walked to the fence, stroked her, gave her something and then walked to the other top end of the fence,' he said.

'It looked like she was trying to get her through the top of the fence, but there's fencing there to stop that from happening.'

He explained that he could see an individual, who he believes to be the assailant's boyfriend, waiting behind the wall out of the camera's view.

Mr Fothergill added: 'She walked back down to the bottom and started fussing her again. She gave her something, you could see, she gave her something.

'Then these girls came past who gave her a fuss, and they walked on and she went up to the top, stroked the dog over the fence.

'Next minute, she grabs it, gives it to her boyfriend, boyfriend wraps it in a coat. Then you see him walk with it under his arm as he walks past.'

The devastated owner is now appealing for anyone with information to come forward in the hopes of being reunited with his beloved pet.

He spent the entirety of Thursday morning collecting CCTV footage in an attempt of getting a clear view of the woman and reported man.

By making the clip public, he hopes somebody will be able to identify the dog-snatcher.
