Shopper is left horrified after finding 'diabolical' item at Food 4 Less store: 'No way I'm buying that'

A shopper was left in shock after finding 'miscellaneous meat' packages at a Food 4 Less grocery store.

The video from Tajh Shani Evans was posted on TikTok showing him picking up the yellow packages labeled 'Misc Meat'.

The video showed Evans picking up the first package of pale cut meat retailing at $1.98, saying: 'Bro this miscellaneous meat is diabolical.'

He was then shocked to find another package of paler meat with the same 'Misc Meat' label priced at $5.98.

'Oh my god another one!' he exclaimed in the video, which has been shared more than 24,000 times.

The 'misc meat' was labeled with no ingredients list and at low costs of $1.98 and the second package at $5.98
A user commented: 'are they not required to have an ingredients list? I for sure as hell would not buy that without knowing exactly what's in it'

Evans posted the video saying the 'miscellaneous meat' was 'diabolical' and was shocked to find a second item with the same vague label

Users commented saying the 'misc meat' was 'sick' and expressed their shock by how much the mystery meat cost.

One commented: 'Are they not required to have an ingredients list? I for sure as hell would not buy that without knowing exactly what's in it'

Guidelines from The U.S. Department of Agriculture, when labeling a meat product, say: 'The descriptive name should accurately identify or describe the basic nature of the food or its characterizing properties or ingredients.'

Another user added that the first package appears to have a handwritten label of 'Turkey Salami' while the second only appears as 'Misc Meat'.

While other users said that despite the uncertainty of the products contents, the low prices mean they would consider eating the mystery meat.

One responder wrote that 'for $1.98 I'm DEVOURING it'

'Is it sad that with current grocery prices I'd buy that?' another added.

Another commenter wrote, 'I got 5lbs of battered whole chicken tenders for $10 labeled misc meat'

The phenomenon of 'Misc Meat' in grocery stores has also been criticized on Reddit, where a user found a similar mystery meat package selling for $10.05.

Users on the site equally expressed their shock, with one commenting: '"Passed meat and or poultry” WHICH MEAT where’s the ingredients list?'

The Food and Drug Administration also states: 'Food manufacturers are required to list all ingredients in the food, unless ingredients are subject to an exemption from this requirement such as incidental additives.

Underneath the viral video, Evans wrote, 'At a true loss for words.'
