Dual nationals Alejandro Zendejas, who plays as a midfielder for Club America, and Cincinnati FC striker Brandon Vazquez are set to be called up to the United States national team for the first time.
According to Futbol Americas hosts Herculez Gomez and Sebastian Salazar, both of the 24-year-old players are set to be named in the squad that will take on Serbia and Columbia in friendlies at the end of January.
It was previously reported that Vazquez would be invited to the camp, however it was unclear if he would accept the call-up at the time.

Brandon Vazquez is also set to be called up for the USMNT camp and friendlies this January
Zendejas has represented both Mexico and the United States at youth level and made two senior appearances for Mexico in late 2021 and early 2022.
In August ESPN Mexico reported that FIFA were investigating the eligibility of the player, who had allegedly yet to file a one-time switch with Mexico.
He also faces the possibility that Club America do not have to release him for the USA camp due to the friendlies landing on non-FIFA dates.
Zendejas faces the possibility of having his call-up blocked by Liga MX team Club America
If Zendejas does indeed decide to pledge his talents to the US team it would serve as major blow to the Mexican national team, who according to long standing member Hector Herrera are already having a difficult time when it comes to having talented players to choose from.
'Nowadays, the truth is that there are few options that the national team has to choose from,' Herrera said. 'The development and opportunities for Mexican players is something that we have stopped doing. We used to do it very well.'
'Today we have players, who for me, should be playing in Europe, not in Liga MX,' Herrera added.
Losing either Zendejas and Vazquez to their biggest rivals would only compound this lack of talent in the national pool for Mexico.
Vazquez played for the United States at many youth levels - with the U-17, U-19 and U-20 teams
Vazquez, who had a breakout season last year has recorded 83 appearances for FC Cincinnati and has bagged 24 goals since joining the team from Atlanta United in 2020.
Last season, Vazquez grabbed 18 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances - including an 86' winner over New York Red Bulls in the opening round of MLS Cup Playoffs.
He has also featured for the United States at the youth level and since Cincinnati is only in preseason as opposed to having already started the season like Club America, Vaquez does not have the potential of his call up being blocked by the club like Zendejas.
