Premier League fans have revealed their predictions for the season, as supporters from a variety of clubs name the manager they think is most likely to be sacked as well as the players they expect to light up stadiums this campaign.

The new season is once again filled with a whole host of exciting storylines, with Manchester City looking to become the first side in history to win five consecutive league titles.

Arsenal, under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, will be hoping to spoil their party and end a 21-year wait for a Premier League trophy, with Liverpool also expected to be among the challengers under new boss Arne Slot.

Meanwhile, Man United, who won the league's curtain-raiser 1-0 at home to Fulham on Friday night, will hope to get back into contention after a disappointing 2023-24 season with manager Erik Ten Hag only keeping his job thanks to a win in the FA Cup final.

But Premier League fans are not backing the Dutchman to survive in the Old Trafford hotseat, data collected by BetMGM can reveal.

Some 11 per cent of 1003 football fanatics surveyed this week expect Ten Hag to be the first Premier League boss to be fired, far clear of any other manager.

Chelsea's new boss Enzo Maresca (six per cent) is also heavily backed to face an early sacking while Leicester's Steve Cooper (five per cent) is thought to be on limited time.

As for the league's star players, one talent from Chelsea stands out above the rest as the man to get supporters of their seats this campaign.

Cole Palmer was the stand-out performer at Stamford Bridge last season, scoring 25 goals in 45 games, and he took his red-hot form into the international arena, impressing off the bench for England during Euro 2024.

His performances went from strength to strength as the tournament went on, with the talent setting up Ollie Watkins's last-minute winner in the semi-final against the Netherlands.

A second-half strike in the final against Spain left the Three Lions within touching distance of a long-awaited trophy but the side fell to a 2-1 defeat after a late Mikel Oyarzabal winner.

And Premier League fans are expecting the forward to take his performances up another notch in the 2024-25 campaign, with one in eight (13 per cent) backing the Chelsea man to be the league's most entertaining player.

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is close behind with ten per cent of supporters predicting him to be the season's best watch, while Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland (both eight per cent) are also tipped to wow spectators.

As for the league's best signing, the Gunners' defensive reinforcement Riccardo Calafiori is backed by one in ten fans to justify his £40m price tag but it is City's Savinho who is most hyped by supporters.

Some 11 per cent expect the tricky winger to light up the league this season.

A whopping 33 per cent of supporters reckon Ipswich will go back down to the Championship while over a third (36 per cent) think City will win a record-breaking fifth title in a row.

While Ten Hag passed his first test with a tight victory over Fulham on Friday, fans will be eagerly awaiting the weekend's fixtures to see if the likes of Palmer, Saka, Calafiori and Savinho can impress.

Arsenal's opening match sees them host Wolves this afternoon while Manchester City travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Sunday.
