Noni Madueke has declared that 'this place is s***' in an eyebrow-raising Instagram post.

The forward is still waiting for his first start of the season under new manager Enzo Maresca, with his run in the team at the back end of last season almost going to waste after the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.

He was an unused substitute in the Blues' season-opening defeat by Manchester City last weekend, and only made the bench in the Conference League play-off against Servette in midweek, though came off it to score.

Though he has been linked with a move away from the Blues this summer, the 22-year-old has travelled to Wolverhampton to play a role in Chelsea's first away game of the season against Wolves on Sunday.

He isn't necessarily happy to be there, though. On Instagram on Saturday night, Madueke appeared to brand Wolverhampton 's***' before swiftly deleting the post.

Madueke shared his location, which was Wolverhampton, in the post, which appeared to have been posted by accident.

He later shared: 'Damn wrong Instagram account. You lot are too fast.'

The post came just a matter of hours before his side kick off against Wolves, with the game scheduled to get underway at Molineux at 2pm BST on Sunday afternoon.

Madueke has 960,000 followers on the platform, and later shared a post previewing the game.

He is one of a handful of players who appear to have made the cut made by Maresca in his squad, which still has dozens of first team players registered in it.

The Italian declared that up to 20 players are training apart from the first team, potentially making them available to leave the club in the final few days of the transfer window.

'If it's a six-year contract, or a 20-year contract, I don't care,' Maresca said this week. 'I'm just here to make the right decisions for the team. About the contract situation, it's not my job.

'You like to say we have 42 or 43 players. Today's session is with 20 players. Yesterday's session was with 21. But the other 15 or 20, they are training apart. Chelsea players, yes, 42 or 43, sure, but they are not working with me every day.

'I don't see them so it's not a mess like it looks from outside. Absolutely not.'

One of those players who has been cut is Raheem Sterling, with Maresca saying it is 'better' for Sterling to leave the club if he is looking for regular minutes.

Mail Sport exclusively revealed a statement made by Sterling's camp last week asking for 'clarity' on his future, though that now appears to be away from Stamford Bridge.

Madueke, meanwhile, has been linked with a move to Newcastle following the arrival of Pedro Neto.

In total, he has scored 10 goals in 47 appearances for Chelsea since joining in 2023 from PSV.
