Bizarre reason why Dodgers star Mookie Betts REFUSED to stay with the team at a Milwaukee hotel

LA Dodgers star Mookie Betts has reportedly declined staying with his teammates at a 'haunted' hotel in Milwaukee, called the Pfister.

Instead, the 31-year-old shortstop will be staying at an Airbnb for the second straight year to avoid interactions with ghosts, according to the LA Times.

Betts has stayed at the Pfister before, claiming to not have noticed any paranormal activity but claimed he couldn't get any shut-eye because he was took spooked out.

He said: 'But I couldn't sleep. Every noise I'd be like, is that something?'

Betts has claimed that he isn't a believer in ghost but he also doesn't want to take any chance in finding out if he's wrong.

The Pfister opened in 1893 and was known as the 'Grand Hotel of the West'. It is decorated with grand chandeliers and gold trims inside.

'It started as a dream of Guido Pfister,' Anna Lardinois - a ghost tour business owner in Milwaukee - told WUM 89.7. 'He wanted to have the finest hotel, and dreamed up the Pfister Hotel. Now, unfortunately, he dies before the hotel is finished. But his son, Charles Pfister seamlessly steps in and he completes the hotel.'

So, is it possible that the hotel's founder's spirit lies inside the 4-star hotel?

According to Lardinois' research, a Milwaukee Daily Sentinel article published on May 5, 1893 claims that the Pfister was built on the grounds of the dead based on an interview with the 'first white boy in Milwaukee,' Charles Milwaukee Sivyer.

'He was talking about a time in the past when he lived in a log cabin that was on the land that now holds the Pfister and he reminisced that it was also a private burying ground,' Lardinois told WUM 89.7.

'They were breaking the ground for it; he went to the property to look for the bones of some of these people and could not find them. So that is, I think, where this true legend began, that this hotel is built on land that had once been graves.'

Since its grand opening over 130 years ago, the Pfister has attracted some of the world's biggest names, including popstars like Elvis, and sports players, mainly MLB teams that are in town to play the Brewers although some have had ghost stories to tell since their stay.

In 2012, while staying at the Pfister, Phillies star Bryce Harper suspected having a spirit from the beyond in his room. He had laid out his shirt and pants on a table by the end of the bed before going to sleep for the night.

'When I woke up in the morning - I swear on everything - the clothes were on the floor and the table was on the opposite side of the room against the wall,' the 2015 NL MVP said. 'I was so flustered. I honestly though there might be someone in my room. I had no idea what the hell just happened, so I actually looked around, and then I checked to see if the door was latched, and it was.'

Harper initially thought that his teammates pulled a prank on him, but after no one came forward, he requested to be moved to a different room.

Other than sports stars and celebrities, the Pfister has hosted every US president since William McKinley. In July, Republican Vice Presidential Nominee JD Vance spoked at the hotel just a day after the RNC Convention in Milwaukee.

It is unclear if he stayed overnight at the hotel.
