Bronny James brutally airballs three-pointer in Lakers' Summer League game as he extends unwanted streak from deep

Bronny James brutally airballed a three-pointer on Monday night as the Lakers draft pick extended an unfortunate streak from behind the arc.

James, the son of Lebron James, was selected No. 55 overall in last month's NBA Draft after a forgettable freshman season at USC.

And after finishing the Lakers' Las Vegas Summer League game vs. the Celtics 0-3 from deep, he's now 0-15 from three point-range this summer, including his appearances at the California Classic Summer League.

In one sequence, James badly failed to even reach the net as he attempted a corner three.

The guard was scoreless through three quarters on Monday, and finished with two points, three rebounds and one assist in 25 minutes.

The Lakers lost the game 88-74.

On a more positive note, James showed off his defensive instincts at another point in the game as he successfully defended a 1-on-4 scenario vs. Boston.

James swatted away an alley-oop pass from JD Davison intended for Jordan Walsh in the first quarter, sending the ball out of bounds and giving his team a chance to reset.

The 19-year-old has shown some impressive athleticism and basketball IQ but likely would have went undrafted if he wasn't selected by his father's Lakers.

He averaged 4.8 points per game for USC in a difficult year both personally and team-wise.

James missed the first eight games of the season after suffering a cardiac arrest last summer.

And the usually strong USC had a down year as they went 15-18.

Regardless of how James fares in the Summer League, he's expected to be retained by the Lakers.

He signed a reported four-year, $7.9million contract with the franchise with over $4million guaranteed - an unusually high number for a late second-round pick.
