Iconic sports radio host Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo isn't happy with Donald Trump's treatment of Joe Biden. Meanwhile some listeners aren't happy with him breaking format.

Although he doesn't typically discuss politics, Russo did weigh in on Trump during a recent interview on Jimmy Traina's Sports Illustrated Media Podcast.

Specifically, the former Mike & The Mad Dog co-host ripped Trump's criticism of Biden in the weeks since the current President dropped out of the 2024 race in favor of his Vice President, Kamala Harris. At the time. former reality television star said Biden is 'the worst President, by far, in the history of our nation.'

'What is he doing?' Russo said about Trump. 'Biden announces he's gonna leave, drop out. And he kills him? Say what you want about him… but [Biden] did give his freakin' life to the United States from 1972-on.'

Commenters on X were not excited to see Russo weighing in on Trump: 'Chris Russo @MadDogUnleashed knows nothing about sports. Why does he think he would know anything about politics?'

Since Biden dropped out of the race, Trump has called him the worst president of all time

Since Biden dropped out of the race, Trump has called him the worst president of all time

'This is not surprising,' another responded. 'He’s always been a loud mouth d*** dating way back to the Mike & The Mad Dog show. The amusing village idiot causing havoc for ratings. A complete douche from day 1.'

Others kept it short and (not so) sweet.

'Go to bed dog,' one wrote. 'You’re a non entity.'

Another added: 'Russo is an idiot and easily ignored.'

Russo went on to express sympathy for Biden over the loss of his first wife and son in a 1972 car crash.

'He also had tragedy in his life with his wife and child who died in that car accident,' Russo continued. 'I think his heart, whether you like his policy or not, is generally speaking in the right place. I think he cares.'

Russo then contrasted Biden's humanity with Trump's.

'The fact that [Trump] can't let him leave the scene quietly and give him his day,' Russo said. 'Even Biden, when Trump got shot, said, 'I'm gonna call him,' and he called him by his first name.

'Even Biden has at times to be above the fray. It really bothered me. Don, can you let the man for 24 hours, six months before the election go out with a little grace? And not pound him… that really bothered me.'

Russo's political leanings aren't well known to listeners.

Trump hasn't been any kinder to his new opponent, calling Harris the 'least admired, least respected, and worst vice president in the history of our country.'

Politico previously reported that the New Jersey-based Russo donated to former Garden State governor Chris Christie's 2020 presidential campaign.
