Alec Baldwin's Hamptons home STILL unsold after $10million price cut as source denies actor is under financial strain amid Rust manslaughter trial

Alec Baldwin's lavish Hamptons home is still unsold after a $10million price cut and almost two years on the market - amid his Rust manslaughter trial.

The actor, 66,  who is currently on trial in New Mexico after the shooting death of  cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, on October 21, 2021, first put the 10-acre estate on Town Lane in Amagansett on the market in September 2022 for $29million.

The home has had its price repeatedly slashed and has gone on and off the market -  in January 2023, the price was cut down to $24.9 million, before dropping again to $22.5 million in March 2023.

The home was taken off the market in September 2023 and re-listed in January 2024 for $18.95million - amid claims the actor was suffering financial strain due to his 'lost jobs, mounting legal bills and growing brood of young dependent' per the NY Times.

As of July 10, the home is still on the market.

Now a source has denied to People that Baldwin - worth an estimated $70million -  is having financial problems, saying: 'There is no financial strain. That house has been on the market for two years.'

In the wake of the Rust shooting Baldwin sold his lake house in upstate New York for $530,000 and bought a 55-acre farm in Vermont for $1.75 million,

The star recorded a promo video at the property when it was relisted in January, saying: 'I fell in love with this place the moment I came here... you just can’t get this out here anymore, you can't buy big pieces of land.

'I love it in the winter time because it's so peaceful and it's so beautiful.'

The property, located 100 miles from the actor's family penthouse in Greenwich Village, is being billed as the perfect 'marriage of nature and luxury.'

It features a 10,000-square-foot modern farmhouse, a pool, spa, covered porches, and a pavilion with a fieldstone fireplace overlooking acres of bucolic preserve in Amagansett's estate section.

'Every detail of this impeccable two-story cedar shingle retreat has been curated to maximize indoor/outdoor space and utilize natural light throughout the year,' the ad reads, with an accompanying video featuring sweeping drone footage over a chill jazz soundtrack.

'Entertain guests and family with a grand eat-in kitchen, dining room, movie theater, wine tasting room and a private wood-paneled library.'

'A nature and equestrian enthusiast's dream getaway offers a unique opportunity to cultivate the reserve or build private stables,' it continues.

In February 2022, he purchased a historic 50-acre farm in Vermont for $1.7million - the same day he was hit with a wrongful death suit by the Hutchins family.

The purchase by Baldwin in the small mountain town of Arlington where his wife Hilaria's grandfather lived, came after the actor spent months in the area following the tragedy in New Mexico.

Baldwin was a producer and the star of Rust when he shot dead cinematographer Hutchins  a mother-of-one, while filming with a prop gun that had a live round inside it. The film's director Joel Souza was also injured.

The stakes for Baldwin are incredibly high and were starkly illustrated in February when Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 26, the armorer on the set, went on trial and was found guilty for the same charges in the same court.

In her opening statement, Erlinda Johnson, a special prosecutor appointed to the case, said that Baldwin had 'violated the cardinal rules of firearm safety’ and that he was 'reckless' on set.

Johnson said that Baldwin had requested the biggest gun available after he arrived on the set in in October 2021.

She told jurors: ‘When someone plays make believe with a real gun in a real life workplace and while playing with the gun violates the cardinal rules of gun safety people's lives are endangered and somebody could be killed.

'That’s what this case is about. It’s simple, straightforward. That someone who played make believe with a real gun and violated the cardinal rules of firearm safety is the defendant, Alexander Baldwin.'

Johnson said that the armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was a 'very young woman' and 'inexperienced'.

She told the court that Baldwin didn't do a safety check with Gutierrez-Reed because he 'didn't want to offend her'.

Johnson also criticized Baldwin's claim that he didn't pull the trigger saying that a firearms analyst ruled that Baldwin must have pulled the trigger.

The trial is the culmination of a nightmare for Baldwin that has lasted for nearly three years and has finally come to court.

The Emmy award winning actor has pleaded not guilty to two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

The case has had a long and tortured path to trial: Baldwin was originally charged in January 2023 with two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

They were dropped three months later in light of new evidence, prosecutors said, adding they needed more time to investigate.

Baldwin and his wife are currently filming a reality TV series about their family. It is not clear if a camera crew is trailing them in New Mexico, but the show is due to air in 2025 meaning filming is likely underway now.

The case is expected to hear eight days of evidence and argument, followed by deliberations.
