Daisy Edgar-Jones ruffles fans' feathers as she declares her love for chickens while playing with them in a cute clip - days after wolfing down wings on Hot Ones

Daisy Edgar-Jones has ruffled fans' feathers by declaring she 'really loves chickens,' just days after she wolfed down some wings on First We Feast's Hot Ones.

The Normal People actress, 26, posed with the animals on a visit to Spitalfields City Farm in London on Thursday.

She was interviewed by Buzzfeed for their YouTube channel, as she put on an animated display, gushed over the animals and playfully feeding them.

The Twisters star posted a slew of snaps and videos on Instagram from her recent trip and wrote in the caption: 'I met some chickens with @buzzfeeduk

'If you didn't know this about me already, I really love chickens. I've also been told my celebrity lookalike is Ginger from Chicken Run, and that I take as a compliment.'

When asked why she loves the animals so much during the interview, Daisy responded: 'I just love that their little legs are so thin and their bodies are so big.

'I just think they're the most comical animal. You can move them around and their heads stay straight.'

It comes after Daisy also made headlines back in 2022 for wearing very unique egg-themed shoes.

Attending the premiere for her comedy thriller movie Fresh, the star modeled a pair of £1,200 Loewe heels designed to look as if each stiletto was smashing open an egg and causing yolk to spill out over the floor.

But now, after reminding fans of her fondness for poultry again with her latest social media post, the actress is facing some backlash.

The comments of Daisy's Instagram are flooded with disappointment from followers who are pointing out that she's showcasing her fondness for the animals, just a few days after eating them on camera.

Angry viewers penned: 'Oh Daisy, I love you…but…you don't eat those you 'love'. Begging you to think about the cognitive dissonance here…I had to, and I'm better and happier for it! And so is the planet (bit by bit).'

'That's actually wild cause you ate chicken wings a few days ago.'

'Celebs would just do anything to promote a movie right? Here she claims she 'loves' chickens while heinously devouring them in hot ones just a few days ago… absolute zero moral compass, you belong to the streets #donteatanimals #bekindtoanimals.'

'Maybe don't eat them then?'

'This is super out of touch, don't eat chicken wings and then say you love chickens, you do not.'

'You love chickens but will happily eat them. How does that work??'

'Sad that a couple of posts before this is hot ones.'

'The juxtaposition of you eating chicken wings on @hotones a few days ago is crazy to me. You cannot say you love chickens days after you were on Hot Ones. Sorry, Daisy, I love you, but this is a no for me.'

However, not everyone was angry and some fans found humour in the situation, writing:

'You can love the animal and still.. have chicken guys.. omg.'

'After posting hot ones is kinda so funny I bursted out laughing.'

'In the 'Chicken Run' universe you would be Tweedy-Fry, you are eating them!'
