As Giovanni Pernice splits from girlfriend Molly Brown all the reasons their romance hit the rocks - from brief early break-up, slew of heated rows and stress of dancer's Strictly scandal

Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has reportedly split from his girlfriend Molly Brown for the second time.

The professional dancer, 33, and the model, 24, began dating at the beginning of the year, before briefly splitting and then getting back together.

Their whirlwind romance progressed very quickly, with the couple making a number of public appearances together and featuring on each other's social medias.

They even took the step of getting a dog together, welcoming an adorable  Pomeranian puppy named Roxy in May, while Molly had been described as Giovanni's 'rock'.

But the pair have now removed all traces of each other from their social media accounts amid reports that they have called it quits - with their last public appearance together being two weeks ago.

The ending of their romance comes as Giovanni has become embroiled in the ever-growing Strictly scandal.

The Italian was suspended from the show while a BBC probe is conducted over claims of off-camera misconduct made by Amanda Abbington, 50, and two other former celeb partners, which he denies.

Molly had been a huge support for the under-fire star throughout, crediting with helping him get through the controversy so far.

A source previously told MailOnline: 'Gio has been through an horrific few months but Molly has been an absolute rock the whole time.

'She's told friends how bizarre she thinks the stuff is that Gio's been accused of because it doesn't tally with the person she knows.

'Like many of his mates, she's been left quite angry about it and thinks those throwing around claims should either make a complaint or stop causing trouble.

The insider added at the time that Molly and Giovanni's romance was progressing 'quickly' and he has told friends what a support she has been to him.

'She's been a huge support to Gio over the last few months and he's been very open with his friends about how important that has been. He's not sure he'd coped without having her around.'

But the speed in which the couple became involved was noticeably quick, and came during a stressful period, while both have to travel and work a lot for their jobs.

In April, Giovanni quietly set up two new companies, including Rock You Productions Ltd, for the 'operation of arts facilities', suggesting that he's making a move to create his own dance school, similar to ones set up by fellow Strictly stars, such as Kevin Clifton.

His second firm is called GP Ballando and the nature of its business was filed on Companies House as 'cultural education'.

While last year, he embarked on a venture away from dancing, setting up his own cosmetics range GP Vita, selling fragrances for men and women.

And Giovanni is set to make his film debut this year after filming a role in Man & Witch, with insiders predicting he'll 'have more acting roles coming his way.

And this year saw his BBC travel show with Anton Du Beke air, with the two Strictly stars exploring Sicily and Spain.

The duo also launched their tour, Anton & Giovanni Together, on June 14 after it was assured it wasn't going to be axed.

She has shared her work with big brands such as designer Jimmy Choo and fake tan brand Forever Sundays to her Instagram, and revealed a love of travel, posting a slew of snaps of her on exotic holidays in New York, Bermuda, Dubai and Singapore.

An insider told MailOnline: 'Molly and Gio have grown incredibly close very quickly. He's on the road a lot and she knows all about his previous reputation. But she doesn't care and is very happy in the relationship.'

When the dancer and the influencer first began dating, they were alleged to be aiming to 'keep things quiet' at the time.

A source told The Mirror back in February: 'Giovanni and Molly met a few weeks ago, and though it is very early days, things seem to be going well between them.

'He has been keeping things quiet because he didn't want too much pressure on as they're getting to know each other'.

But the pair then split after just three weeks, with MailOnline revealing they had unfollowed each other, and Molly deleted a snap alongside Giovanni from her grid.

No reason was given for the rapid separation, and by the end of February the couple had rekindled their romance once more.

Molly confirmed they were back together as she shared a sweet photo of the two cuddled up with the caption 'Amore Mio', while Giovanni also repeated the Italian phrase in the comments before reposting the snap to his own Instagram.

There were even rumours that the pair were set to tie the knot, after Molly was spotted wearing a gold band on her wedding finger - however Giovanni's rep confirmed they were not engaged.

However, the couple were seemingly affected by the allegations about Giovanni's 'militant' training style, with the BBC forced to investigate 'serious workplace misconduct' after three of his partners sought legal help.

Sources close to the couple told The Mirror that the claims have caused Giovanni to be 'under a lot of stress', leading to a string of arguments between him and Molly, who have not been seen together since July 3.

The source said: 'Giovanni and Molly grew very close, very quickly, after they split up the first time and got back together.

'Their relationship has been pretty full on. But they have rowed again recently and it all came to a head earlier this week, when they called it quits.

'Molly has been very supportive of Giovanni, but he has been under a lot of stress lately and that has taken its toll.

'It is not impossible they will try to give things another go once the dust has settled a little, after all, they have done that before.'

MailOnline has contacted a representative for Giovanni Pernice for comment.

It comes after the BBC refused to deny whether Giovanni's dance partner, Rose Ayling-Ellis, had also made a complaint about his behaviour during the 2021 series – which they won.

Giovanni's lawyers vowed that he 'won't be cancelled' and will 'clear his name' and 'fully co-operate' with the BBC's inquiry.

The under-fire star hired Schillings — a top law company known for defending celebrities – which TV insiders described as a 'bold move' after Amanda and two other women instructed rival lawyers at Carter Ruck.

In a statement to the Mail, Schillings said: 'Schillings is engaging with BBC studios to provide it with Giovanni's evidence being made about him and confirm that Giovanni is fully cooperating with that process.

'As with any reality TV show, when decisions are being made the producers have a duty of care. Giovanni is fully committed to clearing his name and defending his rep against accusations against him.'

The move, some say, means 'war' after Amanda claimed Giovanni left her bruised after stamping on her foot.

Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh and presenter Laura Whitmore – also partners of Giovanni – have met with Amanda to discuss their own experiences.

It came just before another dancer on the show Graziano Di Prima, 30, was axed from the series last week over reports he verbally and physically abused his celebrity partner Zara McDermott, 27, during last year's series.

On Wednesday the scandal deepened after unearthed footage revealed former professional dancer James Jordan telling his partner he would 'drag her across the floor and scream at her' if she forgot her moves.

The clip, which was filmed during the fourth series back in 2006, shows him rehearsing with actress Georgina Bouzova.

He also says to her 'kill you' as he demands she stands on one leg and insists that unless she has physically broken a rib he doesn't care what pain she is in. He is also seen throwing a chair across the training studio.

James, who left Strictly in 2012 after appearing on eight series, also banned Georgina, who formerly starred on BBC medical drama Casualty, from eating sweets and chocolate and would only allow her to buy pineapple and ham when they visited a supermarket together.

However James has furiously hit back after the clip from Strictly's spin-off show It Takes Two resurfaced.

The ballroom dancer and choreographer has slammed the BBC saying most of the footage 'was not related to Georgina at all'.

Sharing a raging statement on Instagram he said that the footage was 'edited for entertainment' and was 'highly produced and exaggerated'.

He said there 'is no comparison to be drawn between those awful allegations and the VT' - while insisting none of his celebrity partners ever complained about him during his eight years on the show.

On Tuesday night it was revealed that a third professional dancer on the show has been named as a 'person of interest' in the wake of the abuse and bullying allegations.

There have been accusations of a massive cover-up by the BBC over claims crew members complained about Graziano's behaviour during the series but no action was taken.

Insiders have told The Sun that it is 'becoming clear is that there appears to be a more widespread issue over the conduct of some of the professionals in training.'

'The more people who come forward, the clearer the picture is becoming.'

BBC bosses have since announced they would be introducing 'additional steps to strengthen welfare and support on the show.

The new measures include a member of the production team being present during training room rehearsals at all times, and increased support for both celebrity contestants and the professional dancers.

A Celebrity Welfare Producer and a Professional Dancer Welfare Producer will both be appointed to fulfil these added duties, and further training will also be delivered for the production team and crew.
