Kelly Brook has berated her husband Jeremy Parisi and claims he's made her a miserable wife after booking a 'cheap hotel' in scenes aired on Celebrity Race Across The World.

The glamour model, 44, joined forces with her Italian husband, 39, to go head-to-head against three celebrity pals for a race across South America in the new series of the BBC show, which returned on Wednesday.

With the couple enduring searing heat and tough conditions as they battle to make each checkpoint, it seems tensions are set to simmer between the pair, with Kelly snapping at her husband.

In a teaser for the next episode, the duo appear in mid-argument as the challenge takes its toll, with Kelly snapping: 'You've got a lovely cheap room, and you've got a miserable wife, so well done!'

In another scene, the TV personality moaned: 'Aargh, this is going to be brutal!' as she and her partner set off on the next leg of their journey amid very wet weather conditions.

Speaking into the camera in a confessional, Kelly adds: 'You're stripping away the armour and you're gonna be really bare.'

It will remain to be seen whether the couple can resolve their differences when the show returns to screens.

Kelly recently recalled how the trip was the 'honeymoon from hell' as she reflected on the challenge in a new interview.

The stunner tied the knot with Jeremy in a romantic ceremony in his native Italy back in July 2022, however, the couple didn't book a honeymoon.

After mistakenly believing the arduous 12,500km trek across South America would be an alternative honeymoon, Kelly told Closer magazine: 'We hadn’t had a honeymoon and I said to Jeremy we should consider this as a fun alternative, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. At times it was the honeymoon from hell – at other times it was absolutely glorious. It’s got to be the most memorable honeymoon ever!'

Detailing how the journey allowed them to open their eyes to their relationship dynamic, she continued: 'I didn’t realise how competitive he was, like, crazy competitive. I’m much more about the experience.

'I think I got on his nerves because he was full steam ahead. If Jeremy was doing the race alone, he’d have finished it in a week. I was kind of slowing him down a little bit and I was like, let’s have a Brazilian barbecue one day or let’s go to the beach.'

She added that she was 'grumpy at times' during the trip as they didn't know where they'll be sleeping from one night to the next, but surprised herself at how 'strong' she was physically.

Meanwhile, Kelly left viewers stunned following the opening episode of the show as she revealed her real name.

During the episode, Kelly surprised fans as she and Jeremy planned their next move after reaching the first checkpoint in Brazil, revealing that Brook wasn't her real name.

The Heart FM presenter was born as Kelly Anne Parsons, but adopted the surname Brook when she kicked off her modelling career.

She added that despite that being the name she's known by, it's never been added to her passport.

She said: 'My happy place is in my garden in my wellies, no makeup, hair up. To think that I was like a pin up and I do calendars, it's just all an illusion like it's not who I am at all.'

'Kelly Brook doesn't actually exist, it's not even a real name, it's never even been on my passport or anything. In my mind I'm Mrs Parisi, Jeremy's wife.'

It was a revelation that left some viewers stunned, with posts to X including: 'Kelly Brook is not her real name!!!'

The second series of the show's celebrity spin off will feature Ted Lasso stars to iconic TV presenters as they battle it out to reach their final destination without the help of phones or money.

Ted Lasso's Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen will be competing against TV presenter and broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son, Freddy, 20, along with Kelly, Jeremy and Radio 2 DJ Scott Mills and his now-husband Sam Vaughan.

With little more than £1,000 budget, their journey begins in Belém, Northern Brazil - the gateway to the Amazon - and will pass through five checkpoints across the length of South America.

They will do all they can to reach the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile.

In The Daily Mail's definitive review of the new series, Christopher Stevens welcomed the show's return, joking that it was 'an answer to Britain's overcrowding crisis'.

Elsewhere in the episode, Jeff stormed off after he and son Freddie had a very tense exchange just hours into their month long journey.

The TV presenter was left furious after the 19-year-old claimed the family did not speak openly to each other and as as result he 'keeps quiet'.

Freddie opted not to tell his father he wanted food from the cafe, so Jeff tried to reassure him that their budget was to share.

Saying: 'You don't have to do things on the quiet, surely it only makes life easier for us as a family if we're all just honest '

Freddie interjected: 'I don't think we are even open as a family though, I stay quiet because I feel like thats what everyone else does.

Furious, Jeff asked: 'Are you joking? Freddie don't be unfair, what have I done for the last seven or eight years?'.

'Talking' Freddie replied, seemingly smiling nervously.

Jeff snapped: 'Right well don't say that I don't, take responsibility that's part of this!' before storming off and leaving his son alone at the table.

Jeff shares Freddie and Bobby, 21, with late Big Brother legend Jade Goody - who died in 2009 at the age of 27 following a battle with cervical cancer

And earlier in the episode he revealed he'd signed up for the show in a bid to help his youngest son find a 'greater self worth'.

Revealing Freddie still lived and despite it being 'cute' Jeff said he would soon need an 'exit plan', as Freddie admitted: 'I still need my Dad'.

Jeff then told the camera during one candid moment: 'I've seen my son struggle, I know what he needs is a greater sense of purpose, self worth and confidence'.

Adding: 'So something like [Celebrity Race Across The World], of course we are going to grab with both hands'.

Celebrity Race Across The World airs Wednesdays at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
