Salma Hayek channels Frida Kahlo for the first time since playing her 15 years ago at event dedicated to the Mexican artist in London
It was the role that landed her her first - and, to date, only - Oscar nomination.
And although Salma Hayek failed to scoop the 2003 Best Actress gong for her portrayal of artist Frida Kahlo in biopic Frida, this wasn't stopping the star from channelling her once again on Wednesday evening.
Salma, 51, was in attendance at an event dedicated to the late Mexican portrait painter at London's V&A museum.
Back in the role: It was the performance that landed her her first Oscar nomination. And Salma Hayek channelled Frida Kahlo once again on Wednesday evening at the V&A in London
15 years later: She first portrayed the Mexican artist in the 2002 biopic, Frida [L Frida Kahlo in 1933]
She was sure to return to the sartorial roots of the artist - and Salma's own roots as well - as she turned up to the event in a traditional Spanish dress.
The black number featured brightly coloured florals, which Salma accessorised with a turquoise sash and statement jewellery.
The jewellery included large feature earrings and chunky orange beads, which she wore around her neck.
She added extra dramatic flair to the ensemble in the form of a red headpiece.

In memory: The event was dedicated to the late Mexican portrait painter, whom Salma once portrayed on film
Mexican charm: She added extra dramatic flair to the ensemble in the form of a red headpiece. Salma wore her dark tresses tied up, away from her features, and she decorated her complexion with a deep rouge lipstick and a sweep of mascara
First look: Mitchell Besser joined Annie and Salma at the private view of Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up

The evening guests included the likes of Annie Lennox, Douglas Booth, Clara Amfo, Donna Air and Pearl Mackie.
Salma and co walked into the London museum via a Casa Azul blue carpet to preview the V&A’s latest exhibition which is fully titled Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up.
The exhibition explores how Frida, one of the most recognised and significant artists and women of the 20th century, fashioned her identity, and is the first outside of Mexico to display Kahlo’s clothes and intimate possessions.

The exhibition showcases objects including outfits, make-up, jewellery, letters and reunites them with key self-portraits and photographs.
On arrival, guests sipped on Patrón Tequila Palomas and Perfect Patrón Margarita cocktails whilst enjoying canapes from Chef Martha Ortiz and her team from Ella Canta London, bringing a true taste of Mexico to the event.
Canape highlights included Los besos de Frida, Ceviche vampire, Esquites tradicionales and Mexican hot chocolate with smoked chillis.
After previewing the exhibition, which presents unparalleled insight into Kahlo’s life, guests made their way back to the grand entrance to enjoy an evening inspired by Frida.
Girls night: Donna Air and Holly Candy were in attendance at the bash
Smiles: Holly posed happily for the camera
Leggy: Holly looked pretty in a flowing pale blue dress and nude heels

The exhibition was officially opened by the Director of the V&A, Tristram Hunt, Chief Executive of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, Craig McWilliam and actress Salma.
Salma said: 'Frida had so much pain - physical and emotional. She was an inspiration, she would wake up and start painting her personal life. She would wake up and say, I am my own inspiration. She would wake up and start painting her own identity.
'She painted herself, so the works of art started, with her self. For this, her relationship with fashion was profound.'
Tristram said: 'Kahlo’s rejection of gender orthodoxy and conventional fashion - as an artist who transcended disability - allowed her to forge a unique identity which spans age, gender and geography in its global appeal.
Nipping in: Amelia Windsor and Kitty Spencer made an appearance
Pretty in prints: Lady Amelia Windsor looked incredible as she sashayed into the event
Dressed to impress: The young royal dazzled in a colourful dress teamed with a thick belt
Dancing through life: The blonde beauty pulled some poses whilst leaving the exhibition
'It is an extraordinary privilege for the V&A to present this landmark exhibition - a fresh perspective on Kahlo’s life story.'
The biopic film about the artist was based on the book Frida: A Biography of Frida Kahlo by Hayden Herrera.
Alongside Salm, the movie starred Ashley Judd, Edward Norton and Geoffrey Rush.
Salma lost out at the Oscars when Nicole Kidman won the Best Actress gong instead, for her performance in The Hours as Virginia Woolf.
