Erin Foster's new fiance fooled her with fake invite to friend's vow renewal before his 'amazing' surprise proposal in Napa Valley

And Erin Foster revealed quite the back story to her romantic engagement to new fiance Simon Tikhman in a lengthy post on her Instagram stories.
The 36-year-old writer thought she was going to a friends wedding renewal party in Napa Valley, but was surprised when she found out it was all an elaborate ruse to surprise her with the perfect proposal.

'A month or so ago, Simon told me his friend was doing a wedding renewal,' Erin wrote online.

Simon pleaded with Erin for a couple's manicure before the trip, a decision he's surely still regretting.

'When we got there, there were balloons and signs for this fake ass wedding,' she wrote. 'We walked in to the most beautiful place I've ever seen'
'Simon woke up with a fully infected finger from that manicure,' she wrote. 'The sacrifices we make for the people we love.'
From there, they flew to wine country and received instructions for the wedding once checking into their hotel.
Erin had no clue that her sister Sara, stepmom Katharine McPhee and father David were hiding while they toured the gorgeous Napa Valley Reserve.
'When we got there, there were balloons and signs for this fake ass wedding,' she wrote. 'We walked in to the most beautiful place I've ever seen.'

'The moral to this whole story is really to be careful where you get manicures,' Erin wrote. 'Our post engagement was spent in a Dr. office getting Simon's finger drained and now he's on antibiotics.'
