Jason Donovan praises his daughter Jemma, 19, for following her dreams as she becomes the third family member to star on Neighbours
Jason Donovan couldn't be prouder that his 19-year-old daughter is following in his footsteps.
Jemma Donovan is the third member of her family to star in Neighbours, after her father, 51, and grandfather Terence, 77.
During an interview on Sunrise, Jason praised his daughter, who plays Harlow Robinson, for working so hard to pursue her dreams.
Third generation: Jason Donovan (pictured on Neighbours with Kylie Minogue) has praised his daughter for becoming the third Donovan to star in Neighbours, following in her father and grandfather's footsteps
'As parents, you know, you educate the kids and you put them through school to make the right choices and then it is up to them,' Jason told the program of Jemma's casting.
'She was lucky enough to have an audition for Neighbours and she got the part.
'She is passionate about what she does. She is working hard and Neighbours is wonderful ground for an actor, producer or production person.'
Jemma first appeared as Harlow in July, a character that was reportedly created for her and was inspired by her move from England to Australia.

'I will get out there. I will certainly go and give the guys a visit,' he insisted, noting the show's 35th anniversary was fast approaching.
'Wow! What a story. Who would have thought in 1986 when I joined Neighbours (as Scott Robinson) that in 2019 it would still be going?'
Jason who? Jemma didn't get into the Neighbours cast from her surname alone, reportedly delivering a 'fantastic audition', with some production members surprised to learn of her relationship to Jason
