Criticism aimed at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over their trip to Colombia has continued, with experts pointing out the huge difference in "security" between the country and Harry's home, the UK.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit Colombia later today at the invitation of Vice President Francia Márquez, where they will take part in several events in the capital, Bogotá, until Friday, before leaving for Cartagena and Cali, in the Caribbean and in the Colombian Pacific, where they are expected to be during the weekend.

GB News's Patrick Christys was critical of the latest trip saying: "Prince Harry is missing his own uncle's funeral in the UK because of security concerns. Instead, he's taking his wife to the cocaine-fuelled, gang-warfare, murdering hotspot of Colombia."

He labelled Harry and Meghan "massive hypocrites", to which GB News presenter and writer Emma Webb, agreed, saying: "You don't say. Maybe Harry should be paying the reparations in Colombia for all of the cocaine that he's used over the years." Businessman Adam Brooks added: "He [Harry] is as hypocritical as they come and she [Meghan] is one massive diva."

Meanwhile, former Labour minister Bill Rammell opined: "As a minister, I went to Colombia three times, and I only went with protection officers because it's the most dangerous country in the world. And to compare safety in the UK to Colombia is just hogwash."

During their time as working royals, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were known to their security team as 'Daphne Clark' and 'Danny Collins', with the initials 'DC' representing the Duke or Duchess of Cambridge.

British Heritage Travel reports that Meghan and Harry were also assigned nicknames. Meghan was referred to as 'Davina Scott', while Harry was known as 'David Stevens'.

King Charles opens up on 'unbearable emptiness' of grief after Princess Diana's death

A touching letter from King Charles to a friend discussing the "unbearable emptiness" of grief four months after Princess Diana's death has sold at auction for just over £1,500.

King Charles tells the recipient of the letter, known only as Peter, that his heart "bleeds" for him following the passing of his "dear Liz" to illness.

The monarch adds that he can imagine the "agony" he was going through and 'longed to wave a magic wand to transform the situation'.

Charles, now 75, then touches on the "bewilderment and confusion that accompanies the removal of someone so young from the world".

Future of Meghan Markle's lifestyle brand in doubt as expert says 'nothing happening'

The future of Meghan Markle's much-anticipated lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard (ARO) is facing uncertainty, with a royal expert voicing concerns over its future.

In March, the Duchess of Sussex announced the soft launch of the brand. To promote it, she sent 50 jars of homemade ARO strawberry jam to friends, who shared the products on social media.

But very little has been heard about ARO since and the brand has yet to fully materialise. This has led to speculation from some experts about its viability.

Royal author Pauline MacLaran, who is Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research at Royal Holloway University, has been left baffled.

'Real reason' why Prince Harry and Meghan's chief of staff quit just before Colombia tour

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's chief of staff, Josh Kettler, quit just three months into his new job for one particular reason, according to insiders.

Mr Kettler, a seasoned public relations expert, made headlines earlier this week as he shockingly quit his post after only a quarter of the year working for the couple.

But sources have claimed that he was hired on a trial basis to "guide Harry through the next phase" and the decision to part ways was "mutual", with both sides agreeing it was not the "correct fit".

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle warned over 'furious criticism' in Colombia - expert

EXCLUSIVE: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been sent a warning over "furious criticism" that they could receive if they do decide to bring their two children to Colombia this week.

It remains unknown whether Meghan and Harry are set to bring Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, with them to the South American country - but royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has warned that they could face criticism if they do.

The expert told Express.co.uk: "I think the security angle of Colombia, the fact it has a reputation as being dangerous, certainly in certain areas, makes it impossible for them to bring Archie and Lili without bringing furious criticism, including from many in the US, on their heads."
