Meghan Markle tipped to take 'inspiration' from Princess Kate during Colombia tour

Meghan Markle will likely imitate Princess Kate's latest fashion statement during her visit to Colombia, according to a style expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit the South American country later today at the invitation of Vice President Francia Márquez, where they will take part in several events in the capital, Bogotá, until Friday, before leaving for Cartagena and Cali, in the Caribbean and in the Colombian Pacific, where they are expected to be during the weekend.

Meghan's outfits will undoubtedly be analysed by thousands of fashionistas around the world anticipating to see what she will be wearing.

And according to a jewellery expert, the duchess will likely be wearing jewellery similar to that of what her sister-in-law, the Princess of Wales recently wore.

The future Queen wowed fans last month after she appeared at the Wimbledon finals in London wearing a stunning purple dress by Safiyaa and gold statement hoop earrings by Pariah.

Eddie Le Vian, CEO of jewellery brand Le Vian, predicted that Meghan will be wearing similarly bold jewellery during her latest tour.

He told GB News: "I anticipate Meghan will opt for yellow gold pieces which she seems to be favouring at the moment, as seen from her bracelet stack in Nigeria earlier this year.

"A pair of bold statement gold earrings may well also find their way into her jewellery box."

He said that the duchess has previously worn similar jewellery in the past, adding: "The royal tour of Australia in 2019 saw Meghan wearing a pair of leaf-shaped earrings and she donned gold hammered disc earrings in Nigeria earlier this year.

"Bold gold is a trend that will be big in 2025.

"A pop of colour is also to be expected from Meghan - it’s worth remembering that the vivid green hue of Colombian emeralds are the finest and the most prized in the world.

"Not to mention that emeralds are her son, Prince Archie’s birthstone."
