Little did they know they were inviting trouble. They have caught the witch’s attention, and it might just destroy everything they hold dear.
I loved the short crisp version this story presented and it's fast paced structure. Some may find it dark, though it was a cozy witchy story for me involving some adventure.

The story is surely entertaining and the middle reader in me enjoyed the perspective of the different games that children play. From a reasoning perspective, I was partially satisfied as while the disappearance of creatures was justified, few loose threads were left open that I felt could have been tied together towards the end.

This book is like a summy walk in the park on a winter day. It's absolutely cozy, thought-provoking and a sugar treat for your heart. While the story is quite short, it can still impact you in more than one way and if you pay close attention, you might even figure out something new to appreciate in this journey of life. For me, it has been "never to give up".

The most loveable part for me was not the story or the character, but the graphics. They were wonderful and after a bit of reading, I got to know that the artist is none other than @mome_kamo who is also famous for her Marvel Comic covers. The book is fairly short and can be easily read in a single sitting.

Following the life of our young Lincoln - Tad, this is a story of joyful moments of life. When Tad becomes too attached to a Turkey, it's impossible to fathom its death on the coming Thanksgiving. Hence, it's of dire importance to him that his life be spared.
It also had a glimpse of actual history and the role of Abraham Lincoln in establishing a specific date for Thanksgiving. As much as this book is apt for children, the author's interview part will be equally fascinating for adults. Personally, I loved the idea of listening to this short story and having access to a back story of what made the author write this book, his thought processes and the historical significance of it.
Totally worth purchasing... and rereading. It is a good tale to be shared on Thanksgiving.

This was one of my favourite stories as a child, whether had to read it or watch it as a movie. So for a fan like me, this book worked well for a one-time read. I did however wish the retelling offered something extra. I am a fan of @neilhimself 's writing style, but I missed that Midas touch in this book. Overall, good for one time read, but I don't see myself putting money on the table for this book.

When a special dog catches the attention of a young boy in the woods, it can be said they are bound to end up together. What's strange is that the dog doesn't look or behave ordinary at all! It seems to walk through the walls, doesn't understand the fetch ball game and most of all is of a breed never seen before. From there starts the adventure of these two that takes them exploring the gains, mountains, owl heads and much more.
I loved how cute and cozy this book made me feel. This was one of those books that had a good storyline, with a decent amount of pages. Would love to gift this to my niece. Though it's for middle-graders I like that they have not made everything seem too easy and also convey the message 'everything worth keeping in life, comes at a price'.

My favourite part was the illustrations in this book as they are not just small pictures fitted here n there but the whole page is embedded with them. Which makes it both attractive and engaging for children.
