If you're looking for a slooowww burn locked room thriller type Vibe , then Close Your Eyes and Count to 10 is for you !!
I have no doubt this book is going to be a huge hit !! The premises alone is enough to hook anyone , specially if you are a fan of reality TV game shows , such as Survivor or Alone .
When contestants sign up for the ultimate game experience of Hide and Seek hosted by the famous adventurer Maverick Dillan , the buzz it is creating on the internet for these social media influencers , is everything they need to get them that much closer to the $1 million dollar prize , but it is very clear from the get go that this island is riddled full of lies and deception. These contestants better watch their back as it looks like a deadly storm is heading towards Falcao Island and that may not be the only thing they are hiding from !!
Read this story if you like : * Multiple POV's * Reality TV Game Shows * Decrepit run down Motels * Secluded Island Vibes * Secrets
I really wanted to love this book, it was actually one of my most anticipated ARC's that I received this year , but unfortunately this book was not for me . I felt there was too many POV's and for me all the characters voices in my head were all the same and at times the story felt " Stuffy" . I don't struggle with multiple characters typically but this one felt chaotic and blocky , there was no flow, I felt I kept hitting walls and having to reread the pages taking me forever to finish. I think this book could have been easily a 5 star read if it was told through a single person narrative and more focus on the contestants playing the game giving us more of a thrill and an atmospheric read .
However I really think fans of Rachel Hawkins, Ruth Ware and Ashley Winstead will inhale this book!
Cover Rating : 5 STARS!!!!! Just Gorgeous !
Thank you Netgalley , Harlequin Trade Publishing and Lisa Unger for this ARC

As soon as I saw this cover I was captivated right away and the fact this book is going to be made into a movie on Netflix starring Blake Lively it was a no brainer !
The entire time I was reading I kept waiting for something to grab me and whisk me away, I felt unsettled the entire time I read We Used to Live Here. I truly felt as if I was casting my eyes on a movie every breathing moment of this read . Marcus Kliewer just gained a new fan, phenomenal thriller !
"Ch- Charlie ?" Eve's voice trembled. Now ,every fiber of her being screamed: RUN. Yet she continued creeping forward, one foot after the other, until she swung the door wide open. Putrid reek wafted out, hitting her like a wall. A stench so powerful, it dredged up flash jolt memory : As a child , walking home from school,, she'd accidently stepped on a dead sparrow . With a wet squelch , her red gumboot burst the bird's stomach open , unleashing a mess of bleach-white maggots onto the sunbaked sidewalk."
This story is not for one who is easily frightened. This is a fast paced horror thriller and I read it in one sitting !
One cold evening , Eve receives a knock at her door of their new house her and her partner Charlie just purchased , an old Victorian style home with the intent to renovate or potentially tare down, when she opens the door to her surprise stands before her a family of five and the father says " We used to live here , may we come in and have a tour " ?
Do you ever get that gut feeling something isn't right , like your spidey senses are on overdrive ? Well Eve had that , she knew deep down something was off , but yet she felt compelled to let them in , " ok just for 15 minutes " ...it is quite clear that she should have listened to that inside voice !
You will question everything you know about this town and this house located at 3709 Heritage Lane , what is really going on up there , is it Insanity , Vengeance or Paranormal ???
I really think fans of Home Before Dark, A History of Wild Places , Rock , Paper , Scissors and The Other People will welcome and devour every moment of this book !!
Thank you Netgalley , Atria Books and Marcus Kliewer for this amazing digital ARC !...more
House of Glass is my first read by this author and will not be my last . 3.5 Frantic Child Chilling Stars !!
The Devil is in the Details of this book!
House of Glass is my first read by this author and will not be my last .
The story is told through one narrative Stella Hudson who is a lawyer who has been called to counsel a young girl by the name of Rose who's parents are going through a divorce . The house nanny Tina who took care of Rose has tragically plumaged to her death out of a 3 story window , was she murdered or was it mere accident ?? Young Rose witnessed it all , and has now become mute caused by severe trauma .
Stella is to document her time with the family and decide who should receive full custody of Rose. Quickly out of the gate Stella can't shake this strange feeling upon her first visit with the Barclay family . She has the sense she is being watched, something isn't quite right and notices that there is no glass in the house what so ever, even the picture frames the glass has been removed.
While Stella is doing her research , her past child hood trauma is brought to surface ,her mothers mysterious death when she was a little girl .Things start to unfold quickly and Stella realizes something is off t with Rose , and why is a 9 year old girl reading a story about a famous murderer ? Stella is trying to keep her composure balancing between her past trauma and staying focused on the task at hand , and that is the safety of Rose, but who is the one who should be really scared here??
If slow burn thrillers , creepy children and surprise endings are your jam, then this is a read for you!
I think fans of The Perfect Child , The Push and followers of B.A. Paris will gulp this one down and be left gasping !
The only thing holding me back from a full 5 stars, is I found the main character to be unrelatable and slow at times almost repetitive, however the story definitely kept me engaged the whole way though !
Thank you Netgalley , St. Martin's Press and Sarah Pekkanen for this hair -raising read!

WOW- I don't think I breathed the entire time I read this novel .
This is my first Taylor Adams read and he has just became my new favorite author . I was so blown away by the twist and turns this story takes the reader on . I constantly was looking behind my back to see if anyone was there .
We find Emma house sitting in a very isolated location , with her sweet loyal dog and making friends with a distant neighbor , where they start playing hangman with white eraser boards all done by telescope .
Shortly after Emma leaves a shitty one star review on Amazon after reading a novel suggested by the neighbor, things quickly get creepy and a whole lot of Cat & Mouse transpires !!
This book was gripping and creepy and spooked me many times, and I have read over 50 books this year and this is the first one to haunt me in such a way I had troubles sleeping !
Bravo Adams and I can not wait to read my next novel from you !! ...more

Many times reading the book I felt like I was in the show This book definitely made me feel isolated , and had gothic meets lord of the flies vibes . Many times reading the book I felt like I was in the show Walking Dead, even though it had NOTHING to do with Zombies LOL which was probably due to the fact of the setting of the story.
Alex wants a better life for her 8 month old daughter Kara and 15 year old son Ollie . She finds comfort in a ecofriendly community set out in the middle of nowhere and believes this is the new beginning her and her family need .
Shortly upon arriving and setting up in her new home, strange things start happening, mysterious boxes appear out of nowhere with dead animals inside . Strange noises and the sense of being watched, and the threat of her son to be taken by the creepy old witch that lives in the forest.
This book will spook you and keep you wondering when will the disappearance happen with a shocking ending !!
I loved Alex's character and felt the author made her very relatable to being a single mother of teenagers trying to make the best for her family, but If you ask me a year from now about this book, I don't think it will be "memorable" for me ....more

Josie is the most unhinged woman I have read about in a long time .
I mean the fact she convinced Alix to do a podcast about her ordinary life after a brief encounter that was less than 5 minutes??
That was Alix's first mistake, there was nothing ordinary about Josie at all!!
As we dive into the story things keep getting weirder and weirder and just when you don't things can get anymore twisted ...BOOM they do!
Jewell has such a way of diving into the dark , twisted complex minds of pure CRAZY and INSANE characters that leaves you feeling queasy , but still with one open wanting more .
I think fans of Verity , The Push, Misery and Yellowface will enjoy this read .

This is a fast paced thriller, that had some surprising twists which added a fun element .
Casey is a ragging widow alcoholic and is obsessed with her porch, bourbon, binoculars and the house across the lake . When Casey suspects her neighbor Tom is trying to kill his wife Katherine a famous model , things quickly escalate and it seems Tom is not the only with dark secrets .
Although for me at the end , things got a little "unrealistic" for me with the "ghosts" it did add a fun element and makes me question if the author will write a follow up ....more

This story was FolklorOk so this book will not be for everyone, it was eerie and haunting and I found myself so isolated and scared while reading it .
This story was Folklore on crack written for adults …so many twists and darkly moving that I couldn’t put it it down .
The author is a brilliant writer and I was definitely sent down the rabbit hole trying to figure out what was happening in the town of Pastoral.
Be prepared to be sucked in while Travis uses his sixth sense to find the famous missing author Maggie St. James , but soon Travis finds himself in a dark forest where he has no clue where he is going but he knows it’s the way to Maggie . Travis has a terrible feeling and knows he should turn back , but his heart is telling him to keep going ….and then Travis disappears along with Maggie .

If you liked The Push, The First Day of Spring or If You Tell, then you will definitely not be disappointed with this read from Lucinda!!
Hannah & Christopher Bauer both have thriving careers , a great marriage and cute little home.. the only thing missing to make it "Perfect" is a child to complete their family.
When a mysterious little child is found disheveled and covered in blood and taken to the hospital, it doesn't take long for Christopher to become attached to this little girl and Hannah and Christopher are quickly talking about adoption , it seems too good to be true after years of trying to have a child of their own, but luck is on their side and little Janie is now legally their child.
The reader takes us to the dark side of child behavior issues and I myself as a reader was frightened of this little girl , is she the devil or just pure evil ... or is it neither and all in Hannah's head.
Buckle up for this one because its a bumpy ride that will keep you gripping for more and an ending that literally had my Jaw dropping !!
Thanks Lucinda Berry , you always seem to find away to compel your readers to the edge of darkness with no turning back and multiple surprises !! ...more
