4 years ago i read the The Thirteenth Tale by , Diane Setterfield, and asked around for any other novels that would give me the same twists and turns. a lot of people suggested to read kate mortons. I have to say i have read almost all of her book and found them entertaining enough but not quite that feeling i got after the thirteenth tale. until, the secret keeper. i absolutely devoured this book!!! loved the ending and cant wait to read it again to look for the clue that lead to such a great twist. ...more

this third and last book of "the cemetery of forgotten book" was kind of a puzzle peace of the to other books and how they are all connected, as part os a series of books , each book can be read in no particular order. they can all be stand alone books, needless to say Zafon has been and will always be one of my favorite authors. beautifully written theirs no doubt that i would have given this 5 stars. the book delves into the life and history of one of my favorite characters "federmene". it also connects david martian and his connection to how federmine became aquatinted with santorie and sons book store. it was a great way to connect the dots so to speak, like 6 degrees of separation. the only flaw i found that in the end of angles game davids friendship with elizabeth ended differently as the prisoner of heaven seems to have changes history. i went back and re read angles game and found that i was indeed right. with out giving away a spoiler go and read this books back to back and you will find the mistake....more

i honestly don't know how to rate this book? as an atheist i found it hard to follow the story without cringing every time it got a little to spiritual. as a piece of literature it was superb beyond measures. ultimately i feel it was more about a story of friendship then a story or spiritual miracles. It really showed me how much people should mean to me. Also how I should treat others i absolutely loved owen and wish there was really a person that exists in this world. stunning how the story turned in the end and everything made sense in the end. irving is a master of creating characters....more

I encourage anyone to give it a shot because the character developement and the story are superb and well thought out. The only bad feedback is that it was so hard to get into during the first 39 chapters. If you like fantasy, and you like it in the British style, I doubt there is any better book out there. The characters are wonderful and the story itself is at times funny, charming, sad, and downright scary....more

the cliche of the rich but boorish American man and the idea that the American soldiers just didn't suffer much during WWII all seemed to reflect the British attitude.
If you believe that all Americans are shallow and all Christians are hateful you may enjoy this book in spite of the choppy narrative and lack of plot....more
