I'm Lem'ing this one. The writing is uninteresting, the attempt at humor falls flat, and the casual, off-handed torture and sexual assault is just too much for me. It's even worse reading this after the US election. I didn't have high hopes (the editor of Cracked.com doesn't hold much esteem in my book) but this fell short of even that low bar. It made me want to avoid reading in general.

It marks the 2nd S&L pick I've Lem'd this year. That's close to a record.

Dara Wow, this has to be bad to make you not want to read at all.

terpkristin Well, I think it was the sexual assault descriptions and the sexualization of assault that turned me off of the book (or put it over the edge). But every time I'd pick up something else, I'd feel guilty for not "trying harder" on this book, so I just gave up in general.

But I'm now more earnestly listening to To Green Angel Tower which is putting me in a much better place. :)

Dara I can't read that kind of stuff. Definitely not my cup of tea. I've been reading Harry Potter, blissfully free of that kind of thing.
