    A draft of the City of Manchester’s new zoning ordinance is available for review. If adopted, this would be the City’s first new zoning ordinance in 23 years and just the fourth in the city’s history. The Manchester Economic Development Office would like to remind you that If you live in Manchester and would like to learn more about the proposed Zoning Ordinance in person, there will be meetings in each ward that you can attend. The schedule is listed below.     Independence Day Celebration in Manchester, NH The Manchester Economic Development Office would like to remind you that the City of Manchester, NH, will hold its Independence Day Celebration at Arms Park tonight, Wednesday, July 3, 2024 (rain date: Friday, July 5th). Admission is free. Event Details: • Bring Your Own: Spectators are encouraged to carry in and carry out all belongings (chairs, food, trash etc.) • Food Vendors: There will be food vendors on site. • Prohibited Items: No alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, or pets are allowed. • Facilities: Portable toilets will be available. Entertainment: • Live Music: We are excited to welcome the 39th Army Band back to the stage at 7:30 p.m. • Fireworks: The fireworks display by Pyrotecnico will begin at dusk, around 9:30 p.m. Traffic and Parking Information: • Traffic Update for July 3rd: Both the East and West spans of the Notre Dame (Bridge Street) Bridge will be closed to all traffic (pedestrian and vehicular) starting at 8 a.m. on July 3rd. • Parking Note: The Arms Park parking lot will be closed to vehicles starting at 4 p.m. and will be reserved for viewing thereafter.     The Manchester Economic Development Office is excited to share That the Downtown Summer Series, featuring Free Movie Nights in the Park, returns this summer with an exciting lineup of four incredible films at Veterans Memorial Park. Screenings will begin at dusk, and concessions will be available for purchase. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, and enjoy a night under the stars on 7/17, 7/31, and 8/14. The Movies in the Park Series is brought to you by the Manchester City Library, Manchester Public Television Service, Inc., City of Manchester, NH Public Works Parks and Recreation Division, the Economic Development Office, and the Manchester, NH Mayor's Office.

    The Economic Development Office and the Mayor’s Office is excited for the official launch of the Downtown Cleaning Program on Tuesday, July 2nd at 11 AM at the MTA Welcome Center, located at 775 Elm St and all are welcomed to attend. This initiative marks the beginning of a 12-month pilot program designed to enhance public health and safety in the Downtown and Historic Millyard areas of the Central Business Service District. It is a collaborative effort involving the Mayor’s Office, the Economic Development Office, the Department of Public Works, and the Manchester Police Department and the Central Service District. As a key part of the city’s urban revitalization efforts, this innovative program will feature a specialized Street Team led by Streetplus Company, LLC.  The team will provide comprehensive cleaning, maintenance, safety, and hospitality services, operating 6-7 days a week for 8 hours daily.  The goal is to create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and businesses. In addition to their cleaning and maintenance duties, team members will act as community ambassadors, offering friendly assistance, directions, and information about local attractions. Members of the Streetplus Company, LLC management team will be on-site to engage with business and community leaders, discuss employment opportunities, and provide details about the program. We look forward to seeing you at the MTA Welcome Center, on Tuesday, July 2nd at 11 AM to celebrate the start of this exciting 12-month pilot program.
