Today we held our 4th annual Top Guac competition with Avocados From Mexico and The GIANT Company at the Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK). 4 PCK graduates were partnered with a team member from The GIANT Company and had just 15 quick minutes to create their signature guacamole recipe to receive the winning trophy. The best part about this competition? The GIANT Company in partnership with Avocados from Mexico, donated nearly 60,000 fresh avocados to Philabundance which were quickly delivered to communities across our nine-county service area. Thank you to GIANT and Avocados from Mexico for joining us and for your generous donation. We can't wait to GUAC ON next year! To read more, click the 🔗: https://lnkd.in/dgNGkiXm

About us
Philabundance seeks to drive hunger from our communities today and end hunger forever. It serves approximately 90,000 people per week, a third of whom are children and 15% of whom are seniors. In 2016, Philabundance distributed approximately 24 million pounds of food through its own neighborhood distribution programs and through a network of 350 member agencies in 9 counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Three quarters of a million people in our service area face hunger every day. Their stories are as diverse as the nine counties we serve: working families hit hard by the recession, women, children, seniors trying to make ends meet. The one thing they have in common is being part of a food system that desperately needs additional support. Philabundance was founded in 1984 with the simple belief that no man, woman or child should go hungry. Join us.
