I spoke to 15 gifted high school students The topic: 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽'𝘀 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 See, these are not your average kids. These kids are geniuses building bio-tech startups, AI-powered stuffed animals, autonomous robots, and more as part of the The Knowledge Society (TKS) Here's some of the things I told them: 𝟭. 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗢𝗜). I'm a college dropout. The parents will hate me for this, but social media is not a waste of time. The sooner you switch your mindset from "this is a waste of time" to "this is an investment in growing my brand", the better. I first realized this back in 2021 from Alex Lieberman He suggested to spend 2+ hours/day investing in growing your socials. 3 years later, my life has changed BIG-TIME and I even have a call set up with Alex this week to chat about marketing! Invest serious time in growing it (2+ hours/day) and you'll see serious rewards. 2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁-𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿. Gen Z was the most online generation ever. Gen Alpha is even more online. What most people fail to realize is this internet-nativity is a superpower for business. Every brand is hiring young Gen Z and Gen Alpha creators, marketers, and social media managers because we have this superpower. They're literally spending thousands every month on it. I do a ton of meme marketing for startups because it's part of my superpower. Don't underestimate how valuable you are to a business just because you're young. Lean into your internet-nativity. Lean into the fact you're very online. These are your secret superpowers. I'm Head of Growth at Product Hunt 😼 For more ideas on social growth for startups, follow me Jason Levin ✏️
