Enhancing the evidence act demands a dedicated emphasis on empowering social mission organizations, ensuring they acquire the necessary resources to substantiate the profound impact of their endeavors for social change. Given that a majority of these organizations operate as nonprofits, financial constraints often impede their ability to engage external evaluators for rigorous assessments, hindering the production of compelling evidence. A strategic approach is imperative to extend robust support to these organizations, enabling them to showcase undeniable proof of their work. After all, the essence of the evidence act lies in channeling funding towards organizations that can unequivocally demonstrate the most compelling evidence of their social impact. Results for America #EvidenceAct
Join us at 1 pm today for our virtual event, The Power of Evidence to Drive America’s Progress! During the event, we will: • Celebrate the 5-year anniversary of the bipartisan Evidence Act with its co-authors, Senator Patty Murray and former House Speaker Paul Ryan. • Review findings from a new report by Harvard’s Dr. Christina Ciocca Eller on bipartisan evidence-building efforts over the past decade and the potential for the next 10 years, with Robert Gordon, Deputy Director for Economic Mobility at the White House Domestic Policy Council, and Michele Jolin, CEO & CoFounder of RFA. • Hear from the Congressional What Works Caucus – Reps. Blake D. Moore, Greg Landsman, Rudy Yakym III, and Brittany Pettersen – about how Congress can better integrate data and evidence into the legislative process. • Talk with shalanda young, Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, about the Biden Administration’s evidence agenda. • Recognize federal agencies’ efforts to build and use data and evidence to improve peoples’ lives.
