Our dedicated and experienced #LevelCrossings design team can assist with #levelcrossing work bank planning. This particularly includes using a risk-based approach to identify level crossing closure opportunities or cost-effective safety upgrades. It's exactly what was done on The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) project; in GRIP Stage 3 a total of 37 level crossings were assessed against planned Project impacts and suitable design options produced for level crossing closures and upgraded protection solutions. Depending on the unique circumstances at each crossing, the closure options identified included replacement vehicular #bridges, #bridleway bridges, #footbridges and diversions. Having worked closely with the Project team and Network Rail, the culmination of this work is the proposed closure of all the existing level crossings on the core route between #Leeds and #York which will result in a safer and more resilient railway.
