It’s all about the small wins! ⚡️
This new year, I set a goal to improve in one area I was horrible at - cooking. So I asked my son what he would like to eat, and he said 'dosa.’ I had no idea how to make this so I thought of watching YouTube videos and learning it by myself.
Last week when I tried making dosas, I failed miserably. It made me feel pretty bad.
But I thought I should not give up.
Determined to improve, I decided to give it another shot.
Last morning, after watching around 10 YouTube videos, I took the time to prepare the dosa batter properly. And after getting back from office, I took time to make proper preparations for making the dosa. Finally today I was able to make dosa and sambar!
For someone like me, who knew almost nothing about cooking, it felt like a big achievement.
When my son appreciated the dosa after tasting it, it made me really happy.
This taught me that joy really comes from the small things.
Here's what worked for me:
1. Set a goal to get better at something.
2. Learn as much as you can—I watched a bunch of videos.
3. Go for it—Execution is key here.
Also, I would like to add a small suggestion for others - Appreciate when your friends and family when they are trying out something new, it gives them encouragement to get better. 😇
What is something that you are working on improving this year? Let me know in the comments. :)
