I have news. Good news… A clue is in the photo, where you see me LEAVING the Edward Jenner Clinic at Gloucester Royal Hospital. A place that has been a regular haunt of mine for all of 2024. It’s the place where the fabulous team have worked tirelessly to rid me of diffuse large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma And, yesterday, their verdict was there is currently no trace of this cancer in my body. There are people in the UK who have no good words for the NHS. But for me, the Edward Jenner team – from the consultants to the cleaners – are all worth their weight in gold. They caution the road is still long (and winding); lymphoma may return. The ravages of chemo are still very visible, but at least I now have something that could be called eyebrows. This journey has taken more than 6 months. All of your kind messages, support, gifts (of fabulous brownies and more), phone calls, and even visits have each given support and encouragement to focus on the goal. And – unlike our national football team – I seem to have found that goal. I've got stuff to do, as Cancer Research UK says "around 60% of people will survive 5 years or more after their lymphoma diagnosis." Thank you all.
I noticed you didn't show the jesus sandals 😊, homeward bound X
You got this, and thank you for raising awareness. I am coming up for 7 years post stem cell transplant for relapsed Hodgkin’s Lymphoma 😊
Excellent news! you did it! So happy for you.
Fantastic JJ! I will look forward to that long delayed meet up and chat!!!
Fantastic news JJ! Loving the hat too 😊
This is fantastic news JJ - I’m so happy for your and for your family, that must be a massive relief - and we all wish you to keep on stayin’ in the clear whilst your eyebrows grow further and you resume rocking’n’rolling our world! :) Very best wishes - to you and to the amazing NHS unit that has been taking brilliantly care of you and so many other affected people 🙏
Big congrats on your recovery: Best wishes in getting over covid: in my opinion governments are no longer taking the virus seriously, so it falls on us to really take precautions and a lot of extra care to recover from an infection. So you do have the discipline and make sure to ask for support and help.
Great news, JJ! All the best! The greatest is behind.
Great news AND looking dapper! No change there then!
