 Common Questions

Can I get a back-issue of the paper?

We have a limited number of issues from the past few years that can be ordered from our online store. There is a $7 postage and handling fee per issue. You can find the online store here.

You can browse digital editions of the paper on our website. These go back to 2014. The archive, which also includes back issues of our special publications and Ampersand magazine, can be found here.

How do I access your archives?

The Red & Black's archives — all the way back to 1893 — are digitized through the University System of Georgia Libraries. They can be searched through the Georgia Historical Newspapers Archive

You can find the database here

Note: You might need a Galileo account through the state library system if you are not accessing the database from on campus.

The Red & Black is not able to offer technical support for this database. Please see your local library for assistance.

I was covered by The Red & Black and I want an update to that article or to have you remove it from your website.

Our website serves as our archive and a record of coverage. Just as we would not go back to microfilm of our issues dating back to 1893, we don't remove articles published online. However, if there has been an update to a past incident, such as an arrest record being expunged or charges being dropped, we will consider adding an update, provided there is documentation.

If you would like us to consider an update to an article, please complete the form below and provide documentation. You must complete this form yourself. We will not make updates submitted by parents, friends or other relatives without your authorization. If this request is submitted by a legal or communications company, we must have confirmation from you that they are working on your behalf.
