College of Information and CommunicationsAt a Glance

The University of South Carolina College of Information and Communications specializes in the real-time convergence of data, information, media and society.

The College of Information and Communications is one of only seven U.S. colleges that combines librarianship, information science, journalism and communications. Through agile academics, visionary research and integrated experiential learning, graduates are prepared to excel in a world increasingly powered by information.

Preparing You for an Evolving World

The College of Information and Communications is the only ALA-accredited program and iSchool in South Carolina. Created in 2002, the school allied the university’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications and School of Library and Information Science. The result is a high-powered school that addresses how to store and find information, how to analyze and synthesize it, and how to deliver it.
