School Closure Procedures for Driving Safety Providers
Provide Notice to TDLR
Driving safety providers must notify the department of its closure date at least fifteen (15) business days before the closure.
Return of Certificates
The owner of a provider must return all unissued uniform certificates of course completion to TDLR after the school has closed.
Student Records
You must retain all student records for at least three years. The records must be stored on-site at a licensed location.
Providers with no current enrollment may request approval from TDLR to transfer records to a secure location where documents will be safely stored.
