Applied for a HELOC with Ruth Vargas at…

Applied for a HELOC with Ruth Vargas at Citizens (nice at first then completely incompetent and unhelpful). Have a FULLY PAID mortgage on $420,000 home as well as $500,000 home paid off in Fla and over $800,000+ in investments (so thats about $1.5 Million plus in assets) - income of over $90k/yr between Social Security and IRA and an 820 credit score. They do NOT look at assets, investments, or equity but base all their decisions on some arbitrary income requirement and they would only qualify us for $125k HELOC because we did not have enough income on 1099.

If we had pulled out an extra 5k a month from ROTH IRA and then put it back into the same ROTH IRA, they said out income would be sufficient for a $300k HELOC but we didn't WITHDRAW enough money each year from our HUGE $1.5 Million assets.

This company is LOUSY - they give you conditional approval but then come back and change the requirements.

And if you ever get Ruth Vargas as a mortgage person, she will waste HOURS of your time making you submit documents only to find out she has NO CLUE what she is doing.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH RUTH VARGAS or CITIZENS!!!

DO NOT USE THIS BANK. THEY R NOT WORTH IT FOR CREDIT CARDS. MANY BANKS OFFER GREAT PROMOS. THEY OFFER 0. THEIR STAFF RUDE AND WANTS TO SAY SOMETHING IS NOT IN WRITING BUT THEY HAVE THE LEE WAY TO DO WHAT THEY WANT CANCEL CARD FOR 3MTS. Singing praises to Citizens Bank and…

Singing praises to Citizens Bank and Raphael who helped me with a technical issue. My main branch is in Waterford and Sharon has also been a wonderful help whenever we have had questions. Have been with Citizens since they merged with the bank I began with, in Mystic, decades ago. Wonderful customer service at each branch of Citizens - have always met lovely people at all of their branches, regardless of where I lived, regardless of where they are based. Am deeply grateful.

Beware of sweetheart CD rate

Beware of sweetheart CD rate! I opened a 10-month Certificate of Deposit at a 5.5% APR. Citizens Bank is supposed to notify you of the new terms prior to maturity. On the notice that arrived in the mail a new term of 10 months was disclosed. However, in the place for the new interest rate, there were only "*****". The CD rolled over to an interest rate of 0.25%. No Thank You. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!!! Citizens Bank will charge you a penalty to take your money out. Not a business that I want an association.

Citizens HELOC experience

I applied for a HELOC and the process was so simple and easy. The whole process took 2 weeks to close. The loan processor was very helpful in answering all my questions and followed up thoroughly. I managed the whole process online and by phone. I would definitely recommend Citizens for HELOC services.

No needed Travel Alert equals No cleared transactions

The absolute worst bank. They informed me that I didn't need a travel alert for going abroad and now my card just keeps getting declined even after approving transactions.

The only way I can do anything is to call from abroad. This is absolutely ridiculous and not remotely customer friendly. Bring back travel alerts.

Worst customer service

First, when I opened the account, they said I will have a 300 dollar bonus for opening and 100 if I make a direct deposit within 60 days. Both happened and no bonus came in. I called and they said they never have that promotion. Next, I have asked to waive a fee for a stop payment on checks. They are not able and willing to do it. I have banked with other banks before and the other banks are very much better with regards to customer satisfaction. Will definitely close my account and find another bank.

Called customer service

Called customer service. Couldn't understand the representative. Had to keep repeating everything. It took him more than 10 minutes and he still couldn't verify my account. Told me it was because I didn't have my "card". Couldn't get anywhere, I finally had to terminate the call and go to the local branch in person. I closed my account and would never do business there again.

DO NOT GET CREDIT FROM THIS MACHINE

Very cold company. Paid on time for over a year and half, missed one payment due to my personal account being compromised by a thief, paid it within two weeks once I was contacted; they sent it to the credit bureau. I haven't missed a payment with over 22 accounts in 10 years. Crushed my credit. Contacted them, they just sent me a letter saying what they did is the right. Heartless and cold. We need more human companies. I urge #Vivint security to get away from vultures. Especially when I like my home security. It makes me want to pay this off and get way from Vivint too!

I always have a very good experience…

I always have a very good experience with the staff at Citizens Bank,Branch 2 in East Harwich, MA
Yesterday, the Branch Manager, took such good care of me in my quest for a wire transfer. She is always knowledgeable, accommodating and pleasant. She goes out of her way to meet my needs. It is a busy branch, but the team works together and it runs smoothly! It is always a pleasure to do business with a fine group of professionals.

Worst banking relationship

Worst banking relationship. Calls are sent overseas and hard to resolve any issues. When calls are transferred I always get disconnected and takes longer than 30 minutes to even reach a representative. I closed out accounts and ended banking relationship with Citizens. DO NOT OPEN ANY ACCOUNTS OR DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK!!!!!!

Today my checking account was wiped…

Today my checking account was wiped clean of a bit over $2000.
I spoke to 4 people. 1st person, monotone but efficient enough. The answers to my questions left me confused. 2nd person, her english was so broken that unfortunately she was of no help to me. 3rd person, branch manager of my actual branch was so manic I actually asked her if she was too busy to talk to me. She did not ask my name so it was a challenging conversation.
They are called "Citizens Bank" ironic.
Apparently, asking "does this make any sense to you?" is not an answerable question.
Removing my savings tomorrow

They do hold your money hostage

Tried to give instructions for transfer out upon CD maturing and was told ACH system was down and they didn't know when it would be back up. Could only offer to send a check and I live outside US!! Couldn't tell me when would be back up and couldn't change automatic renewal instructions despite fact that CD doesn't mature for a month. Going to complain to CFPB. They really do try to keep your money hostage.

If you are a small business owner, do not bank with Citizens! They are predatory in their fees and unwilling to work with new businesses during trying times. The absolute worst bank for new businesses! I am leaving and going to WesBanco.

I deposited a large check into my…

I deposited a large check into my savings account from an inheritance of part of a company left to me by my parents. I get a notice that the deposit can’t be done because the payees signature cannot be validated. I go to the bank and they say that they cannot do anything to help me I have to wait longer to see if the check clears. They wouldn’t validate my identity. I said I deposited the check into my savings account. If I was a thief I wouldn’t put it in my own account. She still said she couldn’t do anything. They just don’t make any sense. I’m irritated!

Terrible bank .

Terrible bank .. they denied my application and then I had it reconsidered and it was denied again and they pulled my credit report twice and unable to do anything about it. I’m stuck with these inquiries for two years with Equifax . Denied due to mismatch on my credit report which it don’t make any sense and I lived at my address for 10 years and didn’t lied on my application. And they wouldn’t do anything. Avoid citizens !!!!!

I wish I could leave 0 stars

I wish I could leave 0 stars. I made a transaction at a Citizens bank ATM over 2 weeks ago. I was attempting to withdrawal cash. The machine debited my account but there was a dispensing error and the transaction was canceled. I did not receive my money but it was deducted from my account and still has not been credited back. I have left several messages with the bank and they will not return calls. Have filed several complaints, so hopefully someone can help.

Citizen bank is the wrost bank in my…

Citizen bank is the wrost bank in my banking history the ATM took my $400 and it was making an error when I tried to return back the cash it only spit out $100. I called his bank. They told me in two business day I called him again. They said 10 business day I wasn’t expedite my phone cause I needed urgency. Don’t tell me five business they want to five business day. No one spoke to the guy either or I have to wait. They are very unprofessional very rude. Don’t care about people well-being. I told him I have my bills to pay they don’t give 2 foot to the supervisor beforeon Friday the girl told me I can’t speak to the supervisor. They’re very wicked. This is a very evil and I’m very angry.

Banking hours suck!!

Citizens Banks employees are great. My 1st issue is the hours. Banks close at 4pm- seriously?! Im happy u want to be home with ur familys for dinner time, however, most of us dont get out of work till 5. TD Bank is open atleast to 6. I was told u can bring change to TD Bank and they put it in the machine, without rolling every coin as Citizens requires. (Let me guess, ur gonna open it it and put it in a machine to count it to make sure theres no lead in there anyway?) Citizens is also not a good place to get cash turned to foreign exchange $$. I actually went to TD Bank and paid extra cause i wasnt a customer and still got a better deal. Ill be changing banks this week. Done with Citizens after 20+ yrs. Next year, they may close at 2 pm, then start cutting days out so they can be with their families. Great place to work it seems but not a good place to do banking if you ever need to go into a branch.

Asked for a payoff figure -
Paid the amount was told title would come 7-10 days
A month later no title .
Received a bill for $11.54
Called and wanted an explanation .
After speaking to person after person to get an explanation - it was like speaking to an idiot - managers supervisors were no help no explanation-
But the reason - certain employees can’t do their job and no one can take responsibility.
Incompetent managers.
