Citizen bank is the wrost bank in my banking history the ATM took my $400 and it was making an error when I tried to return back the cash it only spit out $100. I called his bank. They told me in two business day I called him again. They said 10 business day I wasn’t expedite my phone cause I needed urgency. Don’t tell me five business they want to five business day. No one spoke to the guy either or I have to wait. They are very unprofessional very rude. Don’t care about people well-being. I told him I have my bills to pay they don’t give 2 foot to the supervisor beforeon Friday the girl told me I can’t speak to the supervisor. They’re very wicked. This is a very evil and I’m very angry.

I received very poor customer service…

I received very poor customer service at the 19mile location in Clinton Twp, Mi.. on February 1, 2024, I went inside to make a deposit around 12noon to find one teller and an extremely long line. The drive thru was also closed. They need to hire tellers in order to provide better customer service. The location at Moravian & Garfield, also in Clinton Twp., Mi. is the complete opposite, always excellent customer service, in the future that will be the only Clinton Twp., Mi. location that I will use.

I expected $700 and got $1.08 Sucker-punched!

I was offered $700 for putting $20,000 into Citizens, w/ required number of deposits. So, I set up automatic $100 deposits to comply. Now, after 6 months, instead of getting my $700 "bonus," I've made exactly $1.08 NOT $700.

At 5% essentially I'm OUT a cool $500.

DO NOT get suckered, avoid Citizens deposit $20k.

Why? Because my auto-deposit, for some reason failed. Sorry, but this $700 seems "sucker bait," so call me Sucker.

Their website is stodgy, (it will not work on Chrome, so I must use Edge, which I don't like). Their people at my nearby branch are nice.

35 dollar overdraft fess that cover no more them 180 dollars, not having the ability to withdraw more then 500 dollars a day unless submitting a request after waiting six months and to top it all off open not even a full forty hours a week. This bank is absolutely horrendous and I am genuinely surprised they are still in business don't waste your time

Please read ALL previous negative reviews!!…

Please thoroughly read ALL previous negative reviews!! I am an old guy that is a one finger typist so I cannot really give alot of details or I would be here all day. ABSOLUTELY the worst mortgage processing experience of my entire life!! Owned over 30 properties over my lifetime and numerous processing experiences. If my realtor, whom I trust had not sent me down this path I would not have done it. Over 3 months, hundreds of problems, even up to the time of driving to the closing!!

Not A Customer Friendly Bank

Worst bank. Please bank elsewhere. Endless fees, constantly adding additional fees and conditions that initiate new fees. You have to be vigilant and constantly check your account balances to see if you are being charged one of Citizens’ various service charges. Customer service is pointless and is incapable of handling basic problems. Reps and supervisors claim to have no ability to rectify/credit situations and, even worse, service calls typically take over an hour with no results. I would not recommend this bank. Less than 1-star rating if I could. They are way behind the times. Not customer service focused.

Their dismal reviews on this website are no surprise

Their dismal reviews on this website are no surprise to me. I got locked out of my account and could not get back in and they refused to assist me after repeated requests. I escalated it to the corporate level and it was blown off by Susan in that office. Filed a complaint with other entities, and they still did not resolve the problem and simply responded by ignoring it.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I received emails that the scheduled Zelle payment was not sent due to technical problem. Two minutes later received another email that scheduled payment was canceled.
I called three times today and waited a total of over 2 hours on hold. Only information I was given was what I already knew...Zelle was down. No one could assist me. Was transferred again waited longer. Had to go to appt so hung up. Called online banking service after my appt. Same situation, on hold, transferred again.
Bank can't do anything about Zelle, even thought its the ONLY service Citizen Bank offers to send money or payments..
I have had nothing but problems between today and misinformation when I activated the new debit card. A new vendor had to wait almost two weeks because corporate doesn't train the branches properly.
I have three accounts with Citizen Bank and am considering closing all and banking elsewhere.

AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS

AVOID THIS BANK AT ALL COSTS. I was transferred to Citizens from HSBC. They are horrible!! They issued me 2 Mastercard credit cards, one at 26 percent interest and the other at 18 percent, and now they won't let me combine the balances onto the lower interest card because of some "introductory period" BS--when it was their own error that they issued 2 cards in the first place. Their website is atrocious. They try to gouge you with fees and high interest. When you call you get people whose accents are so strong you can't understand what they say and the hold time is endless Stay away!!!

I have gone to the Bloomfield Branch…

I have gone to the Bloomfield Branch 15B-0099 in Pittsburgh PA for a re issue of a debit card. I'm being told I needed a cell phone on me for security code. I have never needed a code sent before when being in a branch. I only have a few thousand dollars in this bank, so I will be moving this change over to Bank of America. The customer service wanted me to pay $12.00 fee for faster service. This institution is really getting sloppy. Citizens bank also given out my personal information at a Market District to a employee there. Watch this bank at all cost!!!!

I just opened an account with Citizens…

I just opened an account with Citizens Pay for a Tile Shop purchase and when I went to schedule a payment on the due date you are not able to. You can only make a payment on the day that you log in or sign up auto pay. This company is forcing you to sign up for auto pay or log in on your due date every month to make a payment. it is almost as if they are setting you up so that you will miss a payment and then they can charge you an exorbitant interest charge.

I had a payroll check deposited on…

I had a payroll check deposited on Sunday at a ATM I left for work as I’m a RN traveler. Thry told me payroll check deposited on a Sunday is 24 hour hold, it is now Wednesday and I’ll have to sleep in my truck since they still haven’t released my funds from a hospital payroll check from sundays deposit, so a 24 hour hold has turned into a 72 hour hold. And of course just thry way thry like it it occurs overdraft fees daily they won’t left my funds become available. When I get back home I’ll be closing this account and hopefully find a bank that doesn’t lie and hold payroll from their patrons

Beware-You may not be able to withdraw your money at all

This may only pertain to Citizen's Access-I had a large amount of money with them and tried to withdraw some cash, not a large amount. They absolutely refused to allow me to withdraw a dime if I didn't have my smartphone with me. I showed my passport, driver's license and other credit cards to prove Identity. The banker there also told me arrogantly that the US Constitution is "just a 250 year old piece of paper." Is this the new regime where they must check your social credit score through your smartphone before you can have your money, like in China?

Trying to reconcile a HELOC statement…

Trying to reconcile a HELOC statement where the numbers don't add up on their page 1 summary. She had me on hold for over 30 mins trying to figure out the discrepancy.

She literally said to me "Its only $3. I'm not very good at math, but it doesn't seem like a big deal."

Oh how I wish there was a zero star…

Oh how I wish there was a zero star option. I also wish I would've read these reviews prior to opening my account. The account was open less than two weeks, when I received a letter stating my account was closed. I had received the debit card in the mail just 4 days prior, and the pin number the day before. When I reached out to the so-called customer service, the rep was rude and had no answers to my questions. When I requested his superior, I was placed on hold and then hung up on. STAY AWAY FROM CITIZENS BANK

Extremely difficult to cancel a fee-charging service

I had signed up for their Open Access service to run ACH, but asked to cancel (March 2023) it because the fee was $200+ per month instead of the $20 per month that I was lead to believe. Fast forward more than a year later, the 'service' is still yet to be cancelled and I continue to be charged this fee every month. I asked them to refund, but the max they could get me was 3 months (after the 'decision maker' came back from leave).

To date, I still am being charged this fee. They say there is an internal process (aka super slow or non-existent) for turning this 'service' off. I think they're purposefully dragging it out in order to keep charging me fees. Imagine how much more fees they can charge across all the unsuspecting customers who signed up!!

I'm starting the process to switch to a new bank. This is ridiculous. Do NOT bank here and especially do NOT sign up for any additional financial services. They're impossible to cancel.
