I talk a lot about reading for someone who hasn’t read anything for months.
Nobody understands the bond between a girl and the mediocre book she read when she was 13 years old.
What if I would buy even more books to keep my mind occupied so that I’m not alone with my thoughts? What then?!
I just wish that buying books and reading them would burn as many calories as going to the gym.
The audacity of me buying new books while I have a bookshelf full of unread books at home.
I love when people are like “Oh, you just use fantasy as a way to escape from reality.”
Yeah Dude, Get me out of here! If not physically! Mentally at the very least!
Mom: You need to stop buying so many books.
Me: But–
Mom: You don’t even have a bookshelf to put them on!
Me: And you think that’s going to stop me?
An amazing bookworm talent is how if you get a new shelf you will immediately fill it up thanks to all the random piles of books on your floor. So again you are left with the problem of no shelves. So you get ANOTHER shelf and--
Many years ago I said I would read all the books I owned before getting more and, after dedication and perseverance, I can finally announce that I have not done this at all.
"I can fix him" but it's writers and they're determinedly talking about that book they've been working on for ten years.
"I am doing fine. There’s nothing to worry about", says the bookworm, stacking their 5678th unread book onto one of their comfort piles.
