A Plus Quality HVAC

I had an excellent experience with A Plus Quality HVAC. They were the only company that replied to my inquiry about a smaller job, which I really appreciated. Pablo and a team member came to my house very soon after I reached out to advise me on the best approach, and they were flexible with timing and followed up with more info afterwards. We ultimately opted for a portable AC unit that we could install ourselves, but I still wanted to share our positive experience and express our gratitude to Pablo and his team!

Pablo & crew installed my 6 unit apartments with mini splits in a seamless, timely and professional manner despite my delays with a 2 year remodeled. Their work was always neatly done & cleaned up. Pablo is very easy to communicate with and responsive in answering all my questions. In fact, Pablo went out of his way to help me with heating issues caused by another contractor in my other buildings and refused to take payment! He truly wanted to help me and is honest, hardworking and humble. I couldn't find a better person to help me with my projects. Would give them 10 stars if I could!

This is a mixed review, I worked with them 18 months ago to install a split air conditioner in a condo in San Francisco. This was a tricky job requiring a lot of work, and they were able to get things done within budget and in the agreed upon timelines. The work was generally good, and up to code.

However, about 6-12 months in, we started noticing one of the split air conditioners leaking slightly when we use cooling, it was a slow leak that wasn't very alarming, and we barely used the cooling as well. In the last 2 months as the leak became more, I've wanted to get this fixed. I've tried reaching out to them multiple times, with multiple voice mails and never heard back. At this point, I'll probably pay someone else to fix it, it seems like they do not really honor their 2 year warranty on parts and labor. Writing this review as a cautionary tale.

A+ is very communicative responsive and prompt. They don't waste time. They are honest.
I was very impressed.

Review is based on my latest appointment with Pablo who I scheduled to give me a new heatpump install estimate. I have been having problems with my gas furnace turning itself off constantly for over a year and I was just fed up. Pablo came out, took a look at my current system and gave me his very honest professional opinion. He actually told me not to get a new heatpump because my current furnace was really good and suggested installing a new condensate drain line and repositioning the furnace to allow better airflow to prevent overheating/overworking the system. When he explained it, it made sense. Better than any other HVAC contractor could diagnose and explain to me before. I found Pablo to be a very trustworthy professional. He could have sold me a $20k+ new system but instead recommended the more pragmatic repair and adjustments that he quoted less than $3k. I would certainly trust him and work with him in the future.

After a remodel we no longer had a chimney to provide exhaust for our existing 80% efficiency furnace. After several consultations we have decided to upgrade to 90% one which can do horizontal exhaust.

We have hired A + Quality H.V.A.C. to do the job.
They were responsive and provided written quotes for several options.

On the day of the install the crew showed up right on time and Alfonso, the foreman, immediately spotted the problem: our water heater would not be compatible with the new exhaust. Now, I wish this would have been discovered at the stage of the quote, but I really appreciate him bringing it up and thinking quickly of the possible solution.
Alfonso managed to design a separate exhaust for the water heater, get materials and install it on the same day! They stayed well into the evening to complete the job - and we had heat and water for the night.
The price tag for additional work was quite reasonable.

I had them replace an old gravity central heating unit with an entirely new unit. The new unit is fantastic and the installation looks highly professional. They left the area super clean. They underestimated the time and cost of the effort, partly because the ducts connecting to the old unit were so old. They replaced quite a bit of the ducting at no additional cost!
I would highly recommend them for HVAC work.
Pablo is top notch.

Had Pablo come out for an estimate to get air conditioning throughout our house. He said they could do it and to send him the plans to our house, which we did the very next day. After some back and forth via email he never sent us a quote and never got back to us after following up a couple times. Disappointed with the customer service and lack of response.

Alex was super friendly and professional. He texted to ask if he could come earlier than his appointment time when he found out we didn't have heat for two days. He replaced the parts for us and the system is up and running within an hour. Thanks Alex.

Alex was fantastic! He was proactive in his communication, showed me everything he was going to do, consulted me on any changes, and best of all did a phenomenal job.

My ducts were falling off, the boots were disconnected, barely getting any heat in the house. The CO exhaust was taped and I didn't have a neutralizer. Alex, fixed everything in three days. It's safe, fully functional, and looks amazing.

Can't go wrong with this team.
