This was an amazing meal! Came around 12:30 on a Saturday and we had to wait around 45 minutes. Despite the wait we were seated inside which was nice. Found parking on the street!
The waiter was super attentive and checked on us regularly. The banh kot appetizer was super delicious. The fish sauce was very yummy. I got the pork vermicelli bowl and it was amazing! This was super filling and super tasty. I love the combination of the pork, cucumber, vermicelli noodles, egg roll and shrimp. The sauce pulled everything together. If I am ever back in Vancouver, I would definitely go again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 12, 2024
The service was super friendly and attentive! We ordered:
Cánh Gà - Chicken Wings in chili fish sauce: this was our favourite dish of the night. Very flavorful and the pepper lime sauce was unique and delicious
Bánh Mì with chicken : I don't think the sandwich was very unique in any way. A pretty basic Bánh Mì but tasted really fresh
Bún Bò Huế : was a fresher lighter take on pho that I'm used to. I think it could have been a little more rich and flavourful but I still really enjoyed.
The ambiance is definitely worth the visit. Especially the patio on a warm day!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 176226505Jul 29, 20242 check-ins
Service was excellent. Super friendly staff and efficient with removing items to make room for the next dish. The check in gentleman helped our group of 5 get seated quickly during a busy lunch time. 5/5 for service.
Portion was good for sharing. Our favorite is the banana flower salad with soft shell crab. We also ordered the Bun Cha Ha Noi. It's a bit on the salty side compared to other places that serve the same dish. We also ordered the sampler and they were kind to provide extra rice paper. Lots of meat, not enough noodles for our noodle loving kid. Again, this was also a bit too salty. Compared to what we had at a Japanese restaurant earlier in the day, it seems they are using to much salt to flavor their food.
Best bathroom out of any Vietnamese restaurant. It has a hand washing station in the middle that's nicely decorate and the space is usually quite clean.
This is our to go spot food for Vietnamese food for now until we find the next best thing in VancouverHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Iris L.Dallas, TX593315Aug 22, 2024
Walked in on a Saturday night and it was one hour wait for ua. We ordered banh khot, signature vermicelli bowl, soft shell banana leaves salad. The food was FANTASTIC and I already want to go back! Everything is very authentic and so elevated! Service was really good too! Def will go back next time we are in town.

Having visited Anh and Chi a couple of times now, I can confidently say that their pho is not a standout dish worth returning for. The vermicelli bowls however are well-seasoned and the flavors that hit the spot. Overall, I'd rate the food a solid 4/5.
However, while I appreciate restaurants that dare to innovate, I found that the appetizers here didn't quite hit the mark for me. Specifically, the rice cakes and prawn cakes left something to be desired.
As for service, it was okay but nothing to write home about. During a lunch visit, it felt a bit sluggish, especially considering it wasn't overly busy. I'd give it a 3/5.
I might return for other menu items. However, I'd caution against dinner visits due to potential long lineups, as they don't take reservations.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 7, 2024
Heard so many things about this place from
Everybody.. I'm from California and when I say garden grove has the best Vietnamese food in the states there's no question about it!
The Vietnamese drip coffee was just as good as any restaurant from garden grove which is okay.
The wings though.. it's one of the best Vietnamese style wings I had in Canada but still wouldn't rival Californian Vietnamese style wings. I like how it was extra crispy, juicy and came with a lemon garlic sauce.
The papaya beef salad was so refreshing and such a chefs kiss. The beef salad had this stringy crunchy bit of it that I loved. It complimented the beef so well and it was seasoned perfectly. A little sweet, tangy and salty with a crunch of fried garlic.
I was pretty shocked how big the portion of Bun noodles were... I thought it was gonna be a small portion but when they brought that sh*t out I was mind blown. The egg rolls and prawns were honestly really good.. like comparable good to west minister and garden grove in California. The prawn tasted soo fresh and egg rolls itself was crispy as I believed it was wrapped in rice paper?
Either way this is one of the better Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver and I'd definitely recommend it to everybody! The service was fantastic as well.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jul 2, 2024
Had dinner at Anh and Chi. There was a 30-45 minute wait, but totally worth it! The wait didnt feel that long because were able to explore the stores near the restaurant .We sat outside, and the food was delicious. The service was super friendly. Just wish the portions were bigger because everything was so good. Highly recommend if you are in Vancouver!
