      Lee who is the technician with Five Star Appliance Repair was very professional and knowledgeable about the refrigerators. He quickly found the problem and fixed it. Also, he told me how to maintain the fridge to make it works better. My fridge is working well and I have learned how to maintain it better from him as well. Customer service is good too. I got my appointment the next day. Very happy with their services.

      Steve is amazing!! I requested a quote service thru Yelp, all the companies that replied to me asked for a inspection, since I explained what was the issue on my service request; he just went above and beyond and told me the simple safety way to see if I need a service or just push a reset bottom, he said if that works good if not to contact him back so he can put me on his schedule. His advice just fix my issue; I definitely save his contact for the future.

      This is the type of service we need, I definitely recommend him.

      Great company easy to deal with in every aspect! Tech was on time courteous and respectful. He explained the procedure clearly so that even my elderly neighbor knew what was going on!

      Called today. My LG front load washer has a leak. I found the leak source is the gasket was pulled away from the drum due to my trying to dry the gasket with a hand towel. I've isolated the problem and now either must purchase a $80-100 one time use tool, and another $20 one time use tool, (which I have purchased and Amazon has lost the package) or struggle with removal of the ring & spring.

      Immediately (Steve?) said he doesn't work on LG or Samsung. I asked, could I explain the situation to you and perhaps you could consider it? He didn't want me to explain, but I know the task is straightforward and will not take an appliance repair person, or any strong person much time or effort. There's even a reputable business showing a YouTube video on how to to the task with basic tools. This man was completely closed off. So I said, "well, thank you, good luck and goodbye." To which he responded, "Wow."

      Does he not realize how shut off and unwilling he was to me? The "Wow" should be directed at himself.

      I am suspicious about his business possibly sending my phone a solicitation text. Maybe, maybe not.

      I am being compassionate and only making down to 3 stars when originally I marked 1. I rated 1 star because I did my homework, I knew what I was doing, needed some help, and he was completely closed off.

      UPDATED TO 4-STAR: Steve called me and found out my appointment was mistakenly put into the following week's lineup. Instead of Thursday 2/24, my appointment was placed into the Thursday 3/3 folder. We're all human and we make mistakes, and this I could understand. Steve called and apologized for the mistake, and offered to make it right. For that alone, I'm bumping this up another star. Unfortunately, I already have someone else booked to fix the problem now, but I do appreciate Steve reaching out personally.

      ORIGINAL REVIEW:

      My review isn't based on the work completed, it's based on the fact no one ever showed up. I called Monday 2/21 and made an appointment to check out my washer that is leaking from the bottom. I was advised they would be here Thursday 2/24 between 8 am - 10 am.

      No one ever showed up or called.

      Granted, I could've called once 10:30 hit to see if they just forgot, but I shouldn't have to. I'm sure they do fine work, which is why I'm still giving a 3-star review, but I won't know because I now need to go with someone else.

      EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: Hi Steve, I called you on Monday at 9:52 am at your cellphone number that you provided to me through Yelp's messages (same one you provided in your reply) after I reached out for a quote through here. We had a 2 min and 17 second phone call where you took my name and info down and said you would be here between 8:00 am - 10:00 am on Thursday 2/24 and quoted me a $75 service fee to come out. You may not miss service appointments, but you did miss mine. It's all good though, it happens.

      I called to get an estimate for repairing my washer, and instead of scheduling an appointment and taking my money, this wonderful repair man helped me assess by phone that the part I was going to need for my whirlpool is no longer available, thereby saving me the cost of his home visit. Steve was polite, friendly, extremely prompt and professional... They just don't make them like this anymore.
      Looks like I'm gonna need to buy a new machine, but I know where to go when it fails! This guy is outstanding!

      Don't go near this place! A very slick young fellow came out and rapidly determined we needed $$6000 in repairs for our 20 year-old Wolf range which cost about that when we bought it. He said a new one was $15,000.
      Wrong on all counts! He did almost nothing to arrive at his estimate which involve replacing all igniters, thermostat and a door hinge. Yet his labor cost was $260!?

      Wolfe referred me to Box Appliance which fixed the stove for only $780. It did not need a new broiler igniter. It did not need a thermostat and it didn't need a new door hinge. Steve explained what was wrong and his prices for the parts came to only 10% of what 5 Star wanted. He warned me that there are many Eastern European (including Russian) appliance repair companies that are doing such things hoping to get even one customer in 5 to agree to their exorbitant prices. Pathetic situation. And, by the way, a new stove (6-burner gas with oven) costs about $7000, not $15,000.

      When my dryer stopped working I hoped and prayed I didn't need a new one. I called Five Star and Steve arrived on time, at the beginning of the window he gave me. Of course I had googled the possibilities of what it could be and Steve confirmed my suspicion. Price if repair was so reasonable! I highly recommend!

      Last night I did a large load of laundry in our old washer and it flooded our garage. I called a bunch of places this morning to find an appliance repair person. Steve was the first (and only) person to call me back. I explained the issue and he told me to try running it without anything in there, that his guess was that it was overloaded and because it was so old it tipped which is why the water escaped. But, if that didn't work he could come tomorrow. So I tried it. He was right and his honesty saved me having to pay for a service call! Thank you for your honesty Steve I will definitely call you in the future!
