      My clothes washer is a brand model nearly 14 years old. Recently, it just stopped the spin dry cycle. I researched the washer model and got a new drive belt for the drum. I thought it was a typical belt replacement issue. But it wasn't because the problem was not resolved.

      I researched several clothes washer repair companies. I narrowed down to who can repair this brand model at that age. That brought it down to 2-3 companies. And one had a long wait, as in a month or more. I opted with Goldpro Appliance Repair. All companies were rated well with positive reviews. Although with less reviews in numbers, and not just high-end washers mentioned, I felt I would give them a shot. They do service my older model clothes washer.

      No regrets at all. I talked to the owner, Melvin, in the morning and he asked me a few questions to get an idea of my problem. He came out the same day in the afternoon. Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. In 10-minutes he told me it wasn't the belt at all. It was a shorted motor. He was very honest and told me he could replace the motor at a cost. But also noticed a worn down gasket-like piece that caused a leak on the motor. That would need to be replaced too. And he also informed me that, at some point, the transmission will go out. Melvin was honest and told me what the added up costs, not including labor, would be and gave me the option to just buy a new clothes washer. He even gave me referrals for best deals. Melvin even let me know my dryer was still in great shape and should still last longer.

      And the cost of Melvin's estimate was just $45. The quick response and diagnosis allowed me to even shop online. I found a great deal and delivery within 2-days. I'm grateful to Melvin for his honesty and company integrity to give Goldpro Appliance Repair a much well-deserved high 5-star rating from me!

      You really don't fully appreciate your dishwasher until it stops working. And when mine stopped working I immediately started googling "the best dishwasher 2019." The universe knew I'd need something fixed because a few days before this happened, someone on our local FB page recommended this repair company. I took a leap of faith and took the recommendation.

      I AM SO GLAD I DID!

      Not only did the dishwasher get fixed (hallelujah!), the service didn't stop there. I was having a rough day overall and one of my family members locked herself out of the guest room. The technician was about to leave, but then volunteered to attempt to unlock the door. Guess what...IT WORKED! God comes in many forms, and today He arrived as an appliance repair man lol.

      I will recommend this place to everyone!

      This is an unusual review.

      I'm giving this company 5 stars for never actually having to call them.

      My dishwasher was collecting water in the tub, and my home warranty coverage payment was late, so it would be a while before I could renew it and have the dishwasher be covered.

      I called Gold Pro Appliance Repair to see if I could get a quote--I told them that if it wasn't going to be much more than a quick fix, around $75 (which is the service call charge for my home warranty), I may want to work with them instead. The person on the phone said they'd be able to send someone as early as tomorrow morning. Then, they gave me two different quotes, depending on two things they were guessing could be the problem (one problem would need a new part; the other wouldn't). Their estimate was anywhere between $120 to $169 depending what was wrong. I told them I'd call them back.

      That alone was super helpful. It helped me be more informed when I called other companies and asked for an estimate.

      After two calls to other companies, I realized Gold Pro Appliance was definitely the most customer-focused, so I called them back.

      The same person who was so patient with me before answered. I asked if $169 was the absolute most I would be charged. To answer, he took the time to explain in greater detail each thing that could possibly be wrong. One of them sounded like something I could maaaaybe fix myself. I feel badass when I'm able to fix shit, so I asked if he thought I could. He said he'd give me some tips. He very patiently coached me through a couple of things I could do, and stayed on the phone as I troubleshot those things. And what do you know? It was an easy fix! He said, "There: you fixed it!" "Really? That's it? Awesome!" "Yes, you just saved yourself $120-165. I'm very happy you won't have to see me!"

      I am writing this review because how often does a business take the time to coach you on the phone so you can NOT need their services?

      I am so incredibly grateful to have started my day interacting with someone who was so generous and kind. It's so rare these days, especially in the business world, where people operate with "time is money" rather than kindness as their guiding principle.

      Update: I ended up having him replace the motor instead of buying a whole new dryer which actually would have costed more. But props to Melvin on not trying to sell me on his services!

      Melvin was fantastic. It was our first time using Gold Pro. He clearly communicated the (very reasonable!) costs, showed up on time and had our washing machine operating smoothly in no time at all. A real pro and a nice guy to boot. We couldn't be happier.

      I called for oven repair (ignition) and Melvin was able to come on the same day and do the repair in no time! What a nice person, professional and respectful. I was back to baking holiday goodies in no time! Thank you!!!!

      Great service from Melvin. Responded to my request for a refrigerator repair quickly, and showed up in the window of time given. He couldn't fix it right away as the part needed was not in stock locally, but got the piece as soon as possible (and didn't charge me the extra shipping fee!) and was back to replace the part within a couple of days.
      Turned out there was another issue he couldn't fix himself so he had another company out within an hour to handle and totally undercharged me to make up for the unforseen extra cost.
      Bonus points for how conscientious he was about cleaning up afterward.

      Our KitchenAid fridge was not functioning normally after the hot SF heat wave. I sent an inquiry to a few places on Yelp and Melvin from Gold Pro Appliance was one of the places to give a speedy in reply. The one that sold it for me was the availability for a same day appointment as well as the initial diagnosis cost ($45) I liked how he was also honest in the message about the labor cost ($75) and potential parts, this way you have a certain expectation of what you'll have to possibly spend.

      Melvin arrived on time and was very courteous and considerate in person and on the phone. He took a look at our fridge and even walked me through what he was examining and taking a part. As he worked his way through the motor an vents on the freezer and fridge side he noticed the issue and was incredibly honest about the problem was. Luckily for us no new part required I really appreciated his honesty on that aspect. After a little clean up of the vents and assembling everything back our fridge is properly working now.

      Gold Pro Appliance Repair is a relatively new small business and they are definitely worth giving a shot. I'm glad they were readily available and appreciative of us contacting them. Thanks Melvin!

      Great work and service. I put a call in this morning about a washing machine that had stopped spinning and wouldn't seem to "go." Melvin got back to me quickly and was able to come out today. He assessed the situation and gave me the rundown so I could make an informed choice - repair or not to repair, how that washer is set up, etc.

      I chose repair and am glad I did. I have a very good washer and can now get many more years out of it. No dumping a washer into the landfill or having to go out and spend a huge amount on a good washer.

      Highly recommend.

      Melvin is top notch and fantastic! Our 7 year old Whirlpool refrigerator clunked out over the weekend, and we were luckily able to get a hold of Melvin the next day. After examining our refrigerator for about 10 minutes, he quickly diagnosed the issue and informed us that our thermostat needed to be replaced. Once replaced, our refrigerator has been working normally again! Would highly recommend Melvin! 2 thumbs up!
