Sooooooo many menu items! I'm not used to having this much to choose from! We got the Mac & Cheez Burger and the MeeT Burger with poutine fries. They were so good! We split a slice of carrot cake, which was a smart choice because I could have eaten the whole thing by myself. We ended up ordering another slice and the Rocky road ganache tart to go. Everything was really delicious.

Our server was very friendly. We got there just as they opened so we expected a little bit of wait for food; it wasn't terrible. The restaurant started filling up, and our server was handling it all by herself. There was another woman working there, but she sat at a table near the bar most of the time and only ran food out a couple of times, so I'm not sure what the deal was there. The service was a bit slow but, again, nothing terrible.

The restaurant was a good size, not too small, and the atmosphere was trendy. Their larger tables used Singer sewing machine legs/feet for the table legs. I thought that was very clever.

Overall, we had a great experience. I can't wait to come back and try something new when we're in town again!

Came here by accident and found out the place is vegan after sitting down. The place is located inside the Gaoler's Mews complex.

      Parking here is pretty awful.

The venue is nice and big and airy, with the 2 walls of solid windows. Great for people watching. The place is definitely modern and hipster looking.

Maybe because it was a slow day, but staff were a bit lacking. Buddy and I walked in there and the place was empty. We looked around for a few minutes and literally nobody showed up. It was only after we had left and taken a few steps before someone suddenly appeared and motioned for us to come back inside.

Although my buddy insisted the place sold burgers, something looked off. I also noticed the sign advertising "fysh tacos". The menu also listed a "chick'un burger". Confirmed with the waitress that the place is indeed 100% vegan. Oops. Oh well, we're here. Might as well give them a try.

The chick'un burger is actually a slice of mushroom that has been battered and fried like fried chicken. Not sure if this is supposed to be the case, but the mushroom itself was actually quite bitter. Fortunately the batter masked the taste. The fries are pretty decent here.

I also tried the Crispy BBQ burger. This thing tastes more like the run of the mill vegan patties out there in supermarkets. I think it was soy/tofu based.

Interestling enough, the burgers actually have a Beyond upgrade for an additional fee, so I imagine the standard burger patties are made in house.

I guess the place is worth checking out if one is vegan, but for those who aren't, there unfortunately isn't much for us here. I did hear the coffee here is pretty decent though. Maybe I'll give it a try next time.

My wife and I are visiting Vancouver and while on vacation we seek out unique places and cuisines. We also like to try vegetarian and vegan restaurants as they are often creative with their menu. MeeT in Gastown did not disappoint.

The MeeT Burger was a great veggie burger with a generous sized side salad and fries. While I was tempted to try the poutine my lunch was plenty filling as it was. My wife got the buffalo cauliflower mac and cheeze which was delicious and was served in a large bowl with a very generous portion of gluten free noodles. The faux cheese was quite tasty and we inquired if they used Daiya brand "cheese" but our server said they didn't and actually explained how they made it and the main ingredients. He said he makes it himself at home as well. Impressive! So not only are the servers friendly and efficient but very knowledgeable.

The restaurant is very casual with interesting touches such as tables made from repurposing antique Singer sewing machines.

This is a great place to visit if you want to get a vegetarian and/or a creative meal in a neat part of town. We will definitely be back if we get to Vancouver again which we are hoping to do soon.

      Yelp Review 2023 #250:

I hardly get excited over vegetarian restaurants as a matter of fact, I dread going to one. But when you have vegetarian friends, you try to be more open-minded and accommodating. MeeT is a plant-based restaurant with several locations. This one is in Gastown hidden behind some stores. Finding this place using Google Maps was a trip!

      Sweet Chili Cauliflower:
Lightly-battered and tossed in tamarind chili glaze sprinkled with scallions and sesame seeds. 4/5

      Oyster Mushroom Kalamari:
Lightly-battered and spiced oyster mushrooms with a cucumber dill tzatziki. This is my favorite MeeT dish. Mushroom gives it the umami flavor and the texture similar to real calamari. Excellent flavor and texture 5/5

      Poutine:
The thing about plant-based cheese is that it just doesn't melt. I've had poutine from different places in Canada. I wasn't a fan of this poutine. 2/5

      Noodle-y Thai:
Rice noodles, shredded cabbage and carrots, bean sprouts, marinated tofu and broccoli - tossed in Thai-inspired sauce with sesame seeds, cashews, and scallions. Nutty and savory. But after a while, I got tired of eating this. All the crunchy elements start to get boring. I wasn't able to finish my meal. 3/5

Service was great. Location is nice: Gastown where all the shops and eateries are at. It's laidback and food came out quick.

I'm not vegan, but I'm always open to trying vegan options in the city!

A friend and I went for lunch. I had the chickun burger. I was a little disappinted in the chickun, which was oyster mushrooms. It was in tiny pieces that were falling out and a lot of the pieces were just purely fried batter. I think it would've been better if the pieces were chunkier. The fries were also okay, they didn't have any salt on them. I did enjoy their poutine however.

I have gotten one of their rice bowls to go and quite liked that. I would visit again because I love the location, grungey feel. Service is always kind as well.

      Dietary restricted brunchers REJOICE!!!

Also fun/hot tip...when all the other brunch spots have multi hour waits, go to a vegan/gluten free spot because all the stubborn meat eating dads of the world would never so there was no wait AND we as vegetarians didn't have to scour the menu for a single option because we could eat ALL OF IT!

Their fun drinks were an unexpected highlight for me too. The homemade Yerba mate was perfect, not too sweet and the cinnamon flavors made it warm in a way. I want to try all of their homemade sodas too. AND, not too expensive.

The gastown location is such a vibe. It felt like we were eating in a greenhouse! Staff was nice and super personable. Would definitely go back

Friendly service and good food. Feels like dining in a fancy greenhouse, perhaps intended by the owner. Cauliflower was crunchy outside and juicy inside. Putine fries were OK, but not my cup of tea. Perhaps dipping may be a better choice, but I should not dictate Canadians how to eat (when you are in Rome...)

Beer and Putine go better than Biden and Putin.

I'm always impressed by vegan cuisine that doesn't make you miss meat and dairy. MeeT does an excellent job of creating flavorful dishes that are satisfying and delicious.

I ordered the Steak Tostadas, which are described as "Three tostadas loaded with marinated steak curls, jalapeños, onion, and cilantro, all finished with our house-made sour cream and fresh lime." I'd never had soy curls before and I was blown away at how the texture and flavor was of flank steak.

One friend loved her Cheesy pesto spinach dip, but I found it to be a bit bland.

My other friend loved his vegan chicken and waffles.

Great service, ambiance, and location. Would come back here again.

We've tried Meet on Main some time ago and was blown away by the food. Even for our non-vegan friends, the food was delicious and flavourful. We came to this location on a weekend afternoon for brunch/lunch. It wasn't busy when we came, but there was only one main server. Service was decent as she came by to top off our water and asked how our food was. She lacked a little energy like she was friendly when she spoke to us, but seemed to not enjoy her job once she walked away. She brought the card machine over when we paid but just dropped it off and left to attend to other things.

Food was a hit/miss. I prefer crispy fries, but the ones here were more thick cut and dense. The burger tasted okay, but the chipotle mayo was "not good" (according to my bf). My breakfast dish was alright. The flavour was a bit one note and every bite tasted the same. I was disappointed that the "grilled corn" in the dish didn't have any char. I do enjoy the freshness of the ingredients.

Not a bad option for vegan food, but I wouldn't return to this location.

We got here shortly after opening during the week Vancouver was in an arctic freeze...this is only relevant because of how unbearably cold it was in the restaurant during our entire meal!
The glass enclosure was not working in their favor this day but I'm sure it creates a lovely ambiance and outside view on a normal rainy Vancouver day. The poor staff was friendly, even moving a heater near our table, but all wearing toques and gloves (as were we). Fortunately the food was all delicious, the jalapeño Mac and cheese donuts were our starter, i had the 'chicken' (oyster mushroom) burger, my friends had the chick pea curry and the 'beef' and broccoli... everything was tasty. Love the selection of home made sodas and kombucha!
